Retro-Action Sinestro: Up Close

Thanks to good people at Mattel and EMCE we have another early look at the Mattel Retro Action DC Super Heroes line, this time it's 8" Sinestro head sculpt again in the rather fitting "Mugshot" style.

As with Lex there is a "Challenge of the Superfriends" vibe going on here and it's just one thing about this figure that makes me happy, the other is that the appearance of Sinestro also clears up one of Mego's bigger omissions, an 8" Green Lantern.
Sinestro will also be in "Wave One" of the Retro-Action Superheroes this Spring.

Looking at this thing, it still feels a little surreal at the moment. 2010 will truly be the year of the Mego Scale.

What a great head sculpt. I will have to get him for sure. So far I've only pre-ordered GL. I think I'll get Sinestro and Lex too.

This is probably my favorite figure of the first wave.

I really like that sculpt a lot ... Too many times I see Sinesto's with very elongated heads that mimic the cartoon but look awful next to other Mego's.
This sculpt is the perfect combo.

I give this one an A+

Simply fantastic. Another beautiful head-sculpt. So fun to see these from the prototype stage and now transforming into the finished product. I'm very happy I pre-ordered the first wave. Can't wait to see how the Superman head sculpt looks.

We can dicker all day about the bodies, accessories, etc. I'd drop $20 on that head in a heartbeat, plus shipping. Not too serious, not too oven-mitty.....just right.

Please do a yellow suit Sinestro Corp variant. I still think these are not like the Big Jim heads as discussed elsewhere on the site. They look completely interchangeable with original Mego heads. Need more of the GL figures too. Just do the whole GL Corp. Blackest Night too.

I just wonder if there's a stem coming out of the torso. Either way it looks like it would mate cleanly to a vintage neck.
