It's been DC all the way since I was a youngster. I don't hate Marvel, I just Love DC. The characters, costumes and colors are beyond Fantastic. The stories I read growing up were the best in my opinion

I am DC Man all the way, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman what a Hottie. However I do like some marvel. But as I said I am a DC man all the way.
But DC has Tiny Titans, so they still win over Marvel!
Amen...my Sister made merciless fun of me for reading comics as a kid, but I'll be danged if she ain't all into that book because her Daughter is into it.
Now, they are into recording/watching anything from the DC Animated Universe and my Niece has something I never had as a kid...subscriptions!
Stan Lee put romance and soap operas into the 60s Marvels, making
them full of introspection and angst.
DC characters are clean cut, well-mannered adults who are secure
in their identities and abilities.
Since the late 70s, the differences blurred as creators went back
and forth between the companies, so that now they are all about
the same. The realization of this came during the Avengers/JLA books
when I got the feeling both groups were from the same publisher.
Filmation did a better quality job on the cartoons than Grantray-Lawrence,
at least Hanna-Barbera did the FF well.
As a kid I collected Superman, Batman, JLA, and Spider-Man. I loved to watch all of the Filmation cartoons, the Spidey cartoon, and the 60s FF. There was also the Adam West Batman, Adventures of Superman, and Superfriends. I liked those shows because they were fun and there was no angst. The comics I have from the 70s are fun, too. Even if they occasionally had an adult plot. The DC titles outnumbered the Marvel ones so I'd say my preference was DC back then. Now I just collect DC, but find I have to hide the titles from my kids, because they can sometimes be a bit gruesome. But DC has Tiny Titans, so they still win over Marvel!
I like both universes. I lean toward DC because of Batman. He is a regular guy. No injections, bites, exposures or radiation treatments. He could to a degree, really exist. You could train yourself to be fit, intelligent and be able to fight. If you were a millionaire, you could build a bullet proof car, have a secret "cave", a bulletproof suit, whatever. So, I think the realism of the character, for a kid, is that I could grow up to be Batman. Plus, he is a great Mego!
My humor coming out...
Why stop there? You could have all that AND Black Canary....if only you were Green Arrow.

I do like DC better, mainly b/c my first exposure to superheroes was the 60s Batman series and the 50s Adventures of Superman. Then later the 60s Filmation series and the '73 SuperFriends. Although I did watch 60s Spider-Man, at that time, I didn't know there was a difference in comic companies, (and got a rude awakening in the 3rd grade!). I didn't know about the Hulk until the Bill Bixby series, when I was maybe 11. And I didn't watch the Marvel Men cartoons until I was 12. So the DC characters just held a special place for me...still do, I guess.
To this day there is very little Dc related items I collect except for Megos and glasses.
Collecting is another story for me. I collect mainly Marvel back issues and I love finding a T-Shirt with a classic Marvel character on it. In fact, I usually buy two if I find one. 70s Marvel just does it for me.
Absolutely, mi amigo. (I threw Brave and Bold out there because it is current and the others...well, they go without saying. Just glad to see it still going with Brave and the Bold.)
Come on over and I'll bust out the DVDs!!!
I'll agree with your other statement about Marvel movies being Miles ahead of DC Movies over all... But I also think the Whoring out process works so much better in thier Favor. DC Makes all thier Movies threw Warner.. who seem more inclided to Make BS Speed Racer Flicks and Potter Nonsense . Lame stuff. However DC Does Own the Toons..., because of Timmi-verse.
Nothing can still never seem to beat BTAS... STAS And JLU imo. As a Whole.

Look at Batman: Brave and the Bold. Who would have thought???!!! Nearly every episode is something your kids will love, but tucked away in that is a "love letter" to you....the kid 20 plus years ago. It might be hard to do, but it can be done AND be done well.

I'm a Marvel guy all the way. Mainly because of Captain America, the FF and The Avengers comics. While I grew up watching the TV shows of Batman and reruns of the 50s Superman, the first comics I started reading and collecting were Cap, The Avengers and the FF. From there I just grew to know more of the Marvel characters and enjoyed them more than DC. IMHO I just identified with the Marvel heroes and they seemed more powerful than their DC counterparts whether it was true or not. To this day there is very little Dc related items I collect except for Megos and glasses.
