Just to clarify again, the likness for both Sam Jones and Max Von Sydow are not hard to attain, BBP already has them, they are just getting our opinion if we want to go that direction or a kind of a "Reverse Superman Move Mego" route.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I definately missed the "in movie costume" line in the original post. If they're going to be movie figures they have to be the actor's likenesses. So that would change my vote. Some of the others that voted as I did may have made the same mistake. Just a guess, but if you're gonna use the movie costumes they have to be the actors involved. Otherwise you just add a third look to Flash Gordon, which is unnecessary. It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment

I would love to see 8" repros of the Mego FG figures, including costumes, accessories and all. HOWEVER, if the figures are going to be wearing the movie costumes, you have to use the actor's likenesses. I'm shocked anyone would consider doing otherwise! In my opinion, this is an open and shut case.Comment

If they (BBP) have the movie license, they should do accurate actor likenesses.
I'd love to see Emce do Alex Raymond-style FG, though...WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I voted actor's likenesses because BifBangPow have shown they can do good work with those. I would also assume that they can get them easily because they have already made most of the principle characters.
Not to hijack the thread, but if you haven't seen their work on the Flash Gordon 7 inch line, check it out and it'll give you a good idea of what they can do. I've reviewed all the figures this week: Infinite Hollywood: Flash Gordon FiguresComment

Just voted, missed this one the first time around.
The movie likenesses are the only likenesses I'm familiar with. I was aware of the 30's & 40's movie serials but had never seen them, and the MEGO FG line passed me by completely unnoticed.

I think if your going to promote Flash Gordon, you should go by the movie version which most of the buying public would associate with the character. Plus there are alot of Flash fans that may not necessarily be Mego fans. If they are Mego fans, their already going to buy it because of it's association. I think a movie likeness would draw from a bigger demographic. Just my two cents.Comment
