And those who know Falcon from the movies have likely never seen and wouldn't recognize the 70s costume of the classic Mego figure. It's not really iconic or enduring, it was a moment in time and that moment has passed. There are other Falcon costumes that would be more recognizable to modern audiences, but classic Mego fans want the classic costume only. If Mego does Falcon, whichever costume they go with will divide the customer base.

I could be wrong but it seems to me that the people inclined to buy a Mego figure would prefer the classic costume, and the people who might prefer a new costume are less inclined to buy a Mego figure to begin with. I would love to see what sales data would indicate.

The thing is, a company that is not growing its customer base and finding new customers will be default have a shrinking customer base, because customer entropy is a constant. So yes, you want to serve your existing customer base, but you need to have some products that will draw in new customers or you are not going to stay in business long. Especially when your main customer demographic is older and the reality is you're not just losing potential customers to loss of interest or economic changes, you also have customer mortality as an issue. It's not a fun topic to talk about, but it is a real factor in sustainability for companies.

              I agree 100% on this.

I was real lucky in the last few months to find ONE local collector/dealer that had an intensive collection of Nu Mego figures and FTC figures that I bought.

He only brought some Star Trek figures to shows to sell, he kept telling me that they did not sell. All he sold was Star Wars and new Marvel stuff. So he completely stopped bringing Nu mego`s and FTC figures to shows in the last 3 years. Wow, let that sink in, he had over 700 figures that he could not sell in toy shows.

The market demanded different figures , he was also happy the meet me that wanted his collection!

Thats a small market ! 1 for one from my entire region.

These Disney releases are great, if grandfathers buy sets for Xmas for their little kids, might grow the customer base. Some 40 years olds might get into Mego figures since their parents have/had some...

This is all good for Mego collectors, more sales, more figures to come out for our collections.

More recent popular characters will help sales. so lets not just limit figures to the 70`s . Deadpool is not from the 70s... Nor is Hobgoblin which I would love to come out.
