    Question about POTA Zira variation

I was rearranging some of my displayed items and I noticed for the first time that my carded Zira has a Mego catalog included with the figure. I know the Kresge carded figures had this, but I did not know that any other figures did. I see no mention of it in the galleries either. This is the 2nd issue card with the copyright and no age recommendation between the feet. Has anyone else seen this?

OK, I scanned the galleries and found a soldier ape on a non Kresge card with a catalog so I see they do exist. How rare is a non Kresge card with a catalog? Did the Kresge carded Apes all have catalogs?

Not all kresge apes have them, as a matter of fact most don't. They also put them in first and second issue cards, but they are tough to find. I've never seen them in any figure packaging after the second issue card.

Thanks, I was hoping you would chime in as the resident apes expert. One other question. How rare is the green metallic haired Zira?

Isn't "variation" pushing it a bit? More like with/without booklet.
To me, "variation" means something different with the figure itself like Zira with brown clothing or skinny boots Batman.

Well it's notNOT a variation, Rich.
Not figure or packaging variant, but perhaps an inclusion variation.

I have one, as well as her not having the inner brown sleeves.

Since we're on the topic, check out this Zira I saw at auction a few years ago.

I showed it to someone who actually owns a Soldier Ape prototype and he was convinced it's a custom. Still something about it though.

It's the very rare Cipsa Zira! Seriously though, that does almost look like a Cipsa type apes outfit, very similar to Zaius' outfit. Maybe just a custom, but really cool to see.

Yeah, wow. It almost looks like it could be a Cipsa Zira. Very cool.
