I'm wondering if anyone has heard any news about Mego's release plans for 2026, beyond another Marvel set for the Disney Store, presumably tied to the release of the upcoming Avengers sequel?
The last two tidbits of Mego news that I've personally seen are: (1) an interview (roughly) last November on the Brick Mantooth You Tube channel where they were promoting a new AI-powered robot toy; they mentioned that the robot should be available on Amazon in time for Christmas, but I've never seen it there myself after checking a few times - they also mentioned more upcoming 'horror'-themed Mego figures, and (2) a note I read somewhere a month or so ago that, while Mego would not have a booth at NYC Toy Fair 2026, they would be there.
I was hoping to hear some Mego news coming out of that trade show, but maybe I missed it?
Specifically, I'm wondering whether they still hold the DC license and are still planning to release that next wave of DC figures, which, from memory, included Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkman? I'm wondering whether the shift of the DC license to Mattel in 2026 (and McFarlane Toys' resultant loss of that same license) has impacted Mego? I also remember that, at NYC Toy Fair 2025, Mego showed off a Batman '89 figure prototype, as well as a Matrix figure prototype.
