50th anniversary Superman and Batman Mego figures

I have seen pictures and discussions, but where can you buy these, or where were they originally sold?

Unfortunately right now the only place I can think of is ebay, and there a bit pricey not to ridiculous but still pricey, Batman more than Superman. I’m pretty sure the online sites and department stores like Walmart no longer carry them.

In Canada, they were sold in WalMart and on Amazon.ca , Nono left at walmart but you can still sometimes get some on Amazon.

When you think about it, it is a bit sad that you can't just pick up the 2 most famous DC heroes just about anywhere, but unfortunately it's not the 1970s anymore. Also check out Mercari, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp. I have found some good deals there.

Congrats on the pickup!

Check your Superman's belt. The early ones have a opaque belt, while later releases have a solid belt. Curious as to which one you received. The latter is closer to the original Mego.

No, it looks pretty translucent to me. My Superman (also from BBTS) has the same problem. I didn't know Mego fixed this (very annoying) problem with later releases. Guess I might get another Supes if I can find one with a solid belt.

Don’t correct me when I say something obviously wrong and stupid! The internet doesn’t like that! LOL! Yes, I meant translucent.

That Superman belt is definitely translucent. I heard about the fix to make it solid and was lucky enough to get one from ZLC. It’s still a great figure, but the solid belt looks so much better.

I have a few translucient but mostly solid belts. Im surprised to see translucient still for sale. BBS must of placed a huge first order to still have some.

I am surprised because I was pretty sure BBTS sold out of Superman and Batman, but got a restock. So I was curious whether it was the updated Superman or not. Apparently Not.
