Facebook MegoMuseum Phishing Scam group

Hey all,

It has come to my attention that some have been misled and joined a group claiming to be the "official Mego Museum" group. This is a fake group, and no one who works at the Museum authorizes it. I'm trying to work it out with our lawyer, but in the meantime, I don't want anyone to get taken advantage of.

It is likely a phishing scam designed to exploit our IP. The only official groups are Mego Mania and MegoMuseum CustoMego. That's it.

If you accepted the invite, please exit that group and tell any friends its a scam.

I'm getting too old for this childish shit.

Thanks for the warning. There are so many fake Facebook groups. Some aren't trying to rip anybody off, but they still make you think they are the official site, which is not cool.

Maybe that was done in retaliation for https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61577195475611. He did claim that the page was created by at least one Mego administrator. But claims aren't facts.

I feel like I may have come across as defending unscrupulous people and I do not defend them. I was just thinking it was ridiculous on the part of these people to try and bilk money from us when we are notoriously cheap. I personally take pride in my cheapness but that’s just my narrow focus on collecting and I am aware it does not reflect toy collectors as a totality.

Appreciate it, I don't really like talking about this stuff, especially now, for personal reasons, but below is what we're dealing with here.

Just so everyone knows, the Museum is free, and well, if you think a janky FB group is better than what we've created here for last 29 years, enjoy.
