I have finally acquired my Mego grail!

The Mego Planet of the Apes Treehouse!
I found it on Etsy for $250!! Complete in its original but badly damaged box and with the original instruction sheet. The only issues with it are two stains on the roof, it is missing floor pins 5R and 5L, and the weapons table had one broken leg, which I easily repaired with my Gorilla hot glue gun. It even has the original price sticker from K-Mart for $14.96.
This one was a long time coming.

Awesome! I had this as a kid and remember it very, very fondly!

I remember thinking that it was so well designed, because it was kind of 'open air' and as a result very easy for a kid like me move the figures in and around it.

Curious, I just used an online inflation calculator to determine the value today of $15 in 1975, and it said $89.96. So that was a pricey toy back in the day....

I'm still in awe in how good shape it is. I was expecting some "issues" with that price.

I'd imagine something like that would be in the $125-$200 range today.

Always good to hear when someone's able to get one of their "most wanted" items. Good score.

Wow great score and it looks great.

I remember back in the day people were using this for Tarzan base.

I also really loved the revelation in the Brick Mantooth You Tube video on this playset that, as I recall it, Mego already had this playset tooled for another girl-oriented line and that this was originally, like, "Jenny's Malibu Beach House." And it was Mego's good fortune that in the final PotA sequel, "Battle For," there are multiple scenes set in a treehouse. Such fantastic background context to such a great toy!
