    Ball Buster!

    IMG_20250209_162208_227.jpg

The wife and I tried Mego's "Ball Buster" this week for the first time and I have to tell you, this game is really tough. I just didn't have the touch, I lost 0-4.

Unfortunate name aside, is it like a Clackers game?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I was about to post something wry about modern Mego's ball buster, but thought better of it.

It's kind of like crochet with stilts, it is not an easy game but I can see it being fun.

I bought this in front of Marty Abrams at the 2023 Mego Meet, he whispered "I named that" and well, sounds believable.

I wanted to add this game to Mego collection for the longest time, but not so bad that I was on a constant hunt. Admittedly, it was the bro-humor aspect that made me want it more than their other offerings. I'd come across it on eBay now and again, lay down my price and usually lose out. That was until about a year ago when one finally landed

A little bit ball buster related trivia. Mattel was developing a MOTU vehicle with the name, you guessed it, ball buster. Mattel really wanted it in the MOTU cartoon and Filmation was like oh hell no. Filmation had creative control and refused to feature the toy in the cartoon. The toy was eventually released with the much better name Bashasaurus.
