These were the first instant preorders I’ve done w/ super7 since their Mars Attacks reaction line.
I’m sure I’ll enjoy them just fine, I’m just waiting to see how they mix with the vintage line on display.
I think I might need to finally bite the bullet on some opaque time travelers as I feel like these new releases will fit in better with them than with the mass of transparent ‘nauts I’m already rocking.

These look like they'll be a big hit. Many people are familiar with Micronauts through the comics, especially those born after Mego, who aren't as familiar with the vintage toys, but know the property through back issues, etc.

I think these strike a nice balance between character and function. We'll see what the final product is like, but many of their Reaction figures are fine pieces of business, even if obviously overpriced. Reaction+ seems to be a bit more of a mixed bag at the moment but with only a handful of figures out in that style currently, there was bound to be a bit of growing pains.

I find that the vintage Micronauts line was not without it's own issues as some of the construction of those late 70s early 80s figures wasn't as polished as later efforts. Likewise, while I understand there were different scales for different characters and some of that was intentional, the idea of having Baron Karza in scale with the traditional and inevitable other 3 3/4 Micronauts is quite appealing. I can see why purists might get upset, but I think these look pretty rad and will likely be a big success at least for a few waves based on previous Reaction success and the buzz this relatively niche property is getting after not having much merch in the last few decades.

The Micronauts were also as the English say "Breaky."

I'm a vintage guy at heart and will always be but not everyone wants to hunt down and shell out $60 for loose mint figure.

So while I will personally reserve my purchases to things I don't have like Karza and Biotron in this scale. I totally get why someone would want an Acroyear for 20 bucks.

Also, price wise, I'm ok with 20 bucks. I don't to pay more though.

My initial take was that S7 had done a five point version of these, as they look to have very stiff elbows/knees in these pictures. Wondering how many other folks are lazy readers like me and will dismiss them thinking they are five point figures? After finding that they are indeed a rubber band constructed figure, I think the Karza is pretty cool and a neat idea to have one in scale with the other Micro world characters. I would definitely want to see a force commander as well, tho. Green Baron, Emporor, and King Atlas would be cool as well if one were to bring the magnetic figures to the smaller scale.

Yeah I'd welcome all those characters at this scale.

I'm sure some will. However once the figures start to hit it will likely be more obvious.

The other thing is that this is S7 and they will likely make Ultimates and some kind of vinyls and oversized figure from the property as well. Reaction is "first step" to a large rollout of product line. I wouldn't be shocked if we see a variety of product from them in different scales and articulation schematics over the next couple of years.

Ultimates of Baron Karza and the like would be pretty neat. I can resist such a purchase but I could see those being really cool.

I could see them making some larger pieces under their Super Cyborg line that could be displayed with these Reactions. Much the same way Tiamat is a Super Size figure that they're pushing as something that can be displayed with their Ultimates D&D line.

Do these appeal to me as a Micronaughts collector? No. But I think they will appeal to Reaction collectors who like/have memories of the line. I don't collect the Reaction line but the collections I've seen of those who do are fun. Where else are you going to see TMNT's, SilverHawks, Muppets, Monsters, and Ron Swanson all in the same scale? That's fun. As a kid scale was why I was less interested in SMDM, Big Jim, and even the 12" scale Megos - my largest collection was 8" scale Megos and if I was going to add new characters I wanted them to fit into that world. Later I added 3.75" figures with CAH, Micronaughts, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars. So I only really cared about two scales. With reaction figures everyone, and by the time they're done they may indeed have everyone, can mingle at the same cocktail party. In the end I may regret not getting the figures that appeal to me including the Micronaught versions but for now I remain mostly a vintage collector.

On the Biotron packaging it says, "Commander Arcturus Rann's Personal Assistant". Doesn't Marvel own the copyright to that name and the characters they created for their original series?

There are licensed through Hasbro so it’s likely that Hasbro has the rights.

Marvel cut a deal with Hasbro to be able to reprint he Micronauts comics in omnibus form, from what I understand, both sides agreed to give up certain rights and share others to get things done so they could both generate revenue from the IP, so it's possible granting use of the character names to Hasbro or their licensees was part of that deal. The exact details of the deal were not revealed iirc, so it's any body's guess, but it seems likely that might be part of it.

                            That actually makes perfect sense.
