when your thread has been out for a while and it's not showing you type in bump just to get it back to the top so every one can see it

It is used to bring a thread back to the top instead of disappearing in the lower pages. You don't have anything new to say, but want it to stay visible.

Its a technique to put a thread back at the top of the thread list so it can be seen more prominently, or to re-introduce a topic. Generally you just type in "bump" as your reply, and voila...your back at the top of the list where most people are looking.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. Putting bump in the thread is a way of initiating a new entry into the thread, that in return will "bump" it higher in the list. Bumping is a way to keep the thread on top.

When you put in a new entry in a thread it bumps it to the top of the thread cue.
So, if your entry moves down the list, by posting "bump" it comes back to the top.
To the best of my knowledge anyhow. My AJ Spy came today, by the way, so thanks Lou!

I "think" what everyone above is saying is that people put "bump
" in an older thread to bring their post back up to the top again.

Hey, Don't feel too bad. I am still trying to figure out what the heck NFSW or whatever that is actually stands for.

I'd like to know what it means too. I wish at least one person could take the time to answer the question.

That is the whole problem here at The Mego Museum. When it comes to asking for help you can never get "anyone" to answer you with a straight answer. J/K
