    KISS mego's. I have a question.

Hey, so when the KISS mego's came out they featured the 4 original members...

    Ace Frehley
    Gene Simmons
    Paul Stanley
    Peter Criss.

But when Peter Criss left, Eric Carr joined the band. It is rumoured that there is an Eric Carr mego...Is this true?

Nope. The figures were on store shelves around fall 1978. Peter technically left the band in 1979, but it was kept a secret until after the release of "Unmasked" in 1980. By the time Eric Carr became an official member after this point, the KISS figures were already out of production for a couple of years.

If you've seen an Eric Carr mego, or if anyone you know has claimed to have seen one, it's a custom job. They were pretty popular there for a while, and I have one I bought at a KISS convention back in the late 1990s that looks really good. But as people have said above, MEGO never actually made one.

Even custom Eric Carr dolls for quite a bit depends on who made them. But never part of mego lineup.

Some of that confusion may be because the KISS Trading Cards with Peter WERE replaced with Eric Carr. Also, there wasn't a skinny body Peter Criss Mego, only Ace, Gene and Paul, so that adds to the confusion.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Those 3rd series KISS cards (which were basically the 1st series with all the Peter cards replaced with Eric cards) are quite difficult to obtain and worth a nice penny!

I paid about $150 for my custom Mego Eric Carr figure, this was over 10 years ago at a KISS convention. Whoever made mine did a great job on it, I could see some people thinking it was legit without close inspection.
