Although I am selling pretty much all to pay the bills, I still enjoy being involved, doing the megolike.com website, etc. so I thought I would do a new thread or two. So here is the question:
Have you ever met or do you have an autograph from anyone that is related to your Mego figures (i.e. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Paul Glaser, or a mego ex-employee perhaps?)...anyone?
I have none of the above, but I did get Ben Chapman and Julie Adams to sign my Aurora CFTBL box and, a b&w photo of them in action on the set, a fake $100 bill with Ben Chapman's CFTBL pic on it (he was giving them away as part of getting to meet him at Chiller in NJ years ago), and some other CFTBL items.
I remember I took my daughter who was 5 at the time to Chiller in NJ and he was the nicest "old man" ever. He talked to her for a good 20 minutes and was as nice as could be. A true gentleman who understands that fans can be demanding and he was so completely humble! Julie Adams was the same way. You forget that time can change someone drastically. Her booth was next to his. I went upstaris ot his booth to meet him but he wasn't there. I had my daughter with me and we were standing waiting for him to come back. Then this very classy, kind, elderly woman comes over and asks my daughter what her name is. She told me she is absolutely adorable and asked if she could hold my daughter as she reminded her of her grandchildren. She was so kind and my daughter was so friendly so I said sure. My daughter asked her awhat her name was and she said "Julie". I said "Julie Adams?". She smiled and said yes. I felt like a d***hebag. I didn't even recognize her as that smoking hottie was now a grandmother with short hair. Duh! Anyway, she signed everything I had and we talked for quite awhile until Ben came back. She and Ben had to be 2 of the nicest people I ever met! I went downstairs with my goodies and caught up to my friend. We wound up seeing quite a few people. My daughter became quite the hit that day as Tanya Roberts (Charlie's Angels, Beastmaster) and Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) both got out from behind their tables to pick my daughter up. My buddy took a ton of pics (of which I got one), but it was a great day. We spent a considerable amount of time talking to them. She had a similar effect on some other celebrities like Linda Blair and such, but I told thme all she will never appreciate it until she is older. Then I asked Tanya Roberts
to pick me up! hah ha..just kidding but she still looks good for her age!
