    protecting boxed figures

    Hey everyone,

I thought I'd join the forum as I've just caught a Mego bug...I've started collecting boxed, 12" figures.

I've picked up a couple of figures recently -- probably paid too much but I tend to go with my heart and not with my brain! -- and was wondering if there are any protective plastic cases available for the boxes (such as those in the superhero line.)

I did find custom boxes that'll cost me about $60 bucks including shipping, but if I can find something more cost-effective, all the better.

    Cheers!

    Hi Brad,
    welcome to the Mego Museum.

Try emailing Oscar - he should have what you need at a very affordable price.

Supes, Batman, Captain America, Spidey and most boxed 12" heroes tend to go $100 and much higher depending on the figure.

Not to mention Robin of any kind.

Welcome aboard Brad, you know it makes me wonder if there isn't already something out there that would fit a mego 12"er considering other SW used similiar packaging.

Hey thanks for the tips. Yeah, actually the quote I got was from Oscar for about 38 bucks (very reasonable) plus shipping to Canada, which adds to the price (not to mention the exchange.) I too had thought that since these have similar packaging to 12" SW figs, I'd be able to find them pretty easily, but not so. Considering how many I might have to buy, I'm holding out till I find the most cost-effective.

I've been looking for some acrylic cases and found this place. Maybe they've got something you're looking for. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that Cloud City sells cases for boxed large size Star Wars figures, but their site seems to offline for revamping right now (if they don't have them, I know someone makes them). I just checked, and the original boxes for the 12" Luke/Leia/Han/Ben are almost exactly the same width and depth as the average Mego 12" figure box, and just a quarter inch or so shorter, so cases for those figures should work (as long as the cases aren't too snug height-wise).
