Hasbro Announces Relaunch of The Micronauts

Hasbro announced today a plan to bring back the classic "Micronauts" toyline with the cooperation of it's original creator Takara Toys.

Micronauts was first launched in 1977 by Mego Corporation and was a worldwide success.

It is not know if this will feature new characters or classics such as Baron Karza but with Hasbro also currently holding the rights to Marvel Comics, it may be possible that figures of Commander Raan, Bug and Marionette are in our future....

Never had these as a kid, can't say I'm a fan, but it's cool another Mego product gets revived

      Wow! Bring it on!

Its too bad Palisade had such quality issues since the original toys are so wonderful. I hope Hasbro mixes in the original toys with new additions, especially the original Marvel characters which is something Palisades never had the rights to.

Hate to be a party pooper but I'm fairly certain Marvel no longer has the rights to the Micronauts. I'm pumped regardless.

I was under the impression AGE owned the Micronauts story and characters (if not the body molds from the Microman line.)

I'm not exactly sure what's what with who has rights to what as far as the Micros go. I do know Devil's due/Dreamwave ran 3 issues for sure with 10 issues called out of new stories and characters plus old faves like Acroyer in 2003/2004.

Marvel owns Marionette, Bug and Arcturus Rann (not the Space Gider character or name) and probably several others like Huntarr and Cilicia.

It would be so sweet to get toys of the original core 'Nauts and villains but I suspect we'll see all new stuff. Sad for me, great for my boys.

I never got the toys but i loved the Mini-series comic between them and the X-Men and started to get thier relauch after that. i just might pick up some of the new ones based on those characters.

If I remember correctly they were pretty flimsy toys and broke way too easily...still, pretty cool!
