Hello and a couple quick questions

    Hey everyone,
I'm glad I found this site, it's awesome!

A few quick questions for those familiar with the new "Retro Cloth" 8" Star Trek action figures and the new Enterprise Bridge playset....

Are both of these EXACT repilcas of the 1970's originals (the same quality and feel and ability to pose the action figures as well as the bridge playset)?

Where is the best place to buy from?

Believe it or not, I still have most of the Star Trek and Super Heroes action figures along with the Enterprise Bridge playset and the Hall of Justice playset from the '70's (finally got them out of my parents basement yesterday). Great memories from a great time!

Thanks for any responses, I appreciate it!

I can't vouch for the playset but the figures are very close to the originals except a tad heavier. Side by side comparisons are shown in the museum galleries. A lot of places sell these figures. I'd shop around for the best price. Sometimes people sell them here on the message boards as well.
Also welcome aboard. This place IS great.

I recommend amazon.com for buying them. They have the Bridge and most of the figures and you can even get free shipping on them.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Hi and welcome aboard. Except for the weight the new Trek figures are almost exact copies of the originals, with the exception of Gorn of course

The materials in the Emce figures are a tad different--the costume fabric is a bit thinner and sometimes paler. The vinyl used in the figure bodies makes them heavier. Emce skin tones are sometimes different & tailored to the character (Spock, Sulu, etc.) The poseability is the same as vintage.

As noted above, some Emce figs are originals and closely mirror the original show: the Gorn & Khan.

The Bridge is very similar to the original, although it features plastic rivets instead of metal. The furnishings (console, capt. chair, & stools) are all molded in gray polystyrene to differentiate them from originals. The viewscreen cards have ST logos on the backs to differentiate them from originals.

At the Mego Museum galleries, check out both Accessory Check & ReMego--they're very detailed & helpful.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Meule, thanks and i've always been a fan of the Gorn.
                PNGwynne, good information too, thanks!

I posted a pic of a Hall of Justice setup on Mego Playhouse. I haven't felt like this since I was a (little) kid, except now i'm more creative and have a digital camera!

Thanks Underdog, this website is incredible.
I just saw the 1976 Penney's ad with Star Trek stuff that I taped onto the wall next to my bed when I was a kid - this stuff is like a catharsis that we all need to get away from the real world once in a while.
I'll do more exploring around here this weekend and setup my original Star Trek playset for an action scene.
