Anyone had luck buying Megos on Craigslist?

I posted my very first add to Craigslist. It was, of course, Old Super Hero Toys Wanted. I specified Mego by name in the post and even included pics of several Megos to jog their memory. The South doesn't seem to have much by way of Mego, but maybe there's a few hiding out there.

Not sure if I'll have any luck, but I'll keep you posted.

    Anyone had any success?

I have tried to negotiate with a few Craigslisters in LALAland about their MEGOs, but they seem to hold steady at some nutso prices.

    Good luck to you, HQ!!

For buying ... My area is really lousy for collectibles ...

For selling ... I have tried but never sold one collectible on Craigslist -- on the other hand people will buy such dumb items as used toilet seats and 5 bricks

Maybe it's just my area, but collectibles don't sell well on Craigslist

Not Mego, but I answered an ad this summer in Craigslist for vintage GI Joe and scored a HUGE lot for a very good price--dude pulled the stuff from the rafters of his garage where the stuff had sat for YEARS. He named his price and I paid him without hesitation. I'm always scanning craigslist for similar deals.....

the term "collectable" is used really loose there, the few times i checked their were some wwe and gi joes but nothing worth buying.

I have had some luck buying older star wars figures but not megos. Some guy posted 5 ST figures, crew, for $700. When I informed him his price was steep he promptly told me to go to hell. I just didn't comment to him and let him go with the delusion that he hit the lottery with his figures.

Good thing he wasn't selling Black Hole figures.

I check Craig's list every once in a while, but I've never seen any Megos posted. Then again, I've never posted an ad saying that I was looking for them. I have seen people selling more recent, common, beat-up toys and asking crazy prices for them and acting like they're doing you a favor. One guy was selling recent, loose 3 3/4" GI Joe figures for something like $50 each when you can still buy them on the shelves at WalMart for well under $20. But you never know what you'll find! Good Luck!

The only thing I ever see is Kiss dolls in my neck of the woods and they're always high priced.
