    Mego Art Director John McNett

With great sadness, I share the following from Linda McNett:

"I am so sorry to tell you that John passed away this morning. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. The Funeral/Memorial Service will be at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601, on October 15 at 4:00 pm."

Linda adds that if you "have any memories, stories, anecdotes, or anything at all you would like to share about John, would you be so kind as to forward it to me via email so it can read at his Memorial Service on Thursday? It was one of his last wishes to have a meaningful gathering in celebration of his life."

If you have anything to share, please send your messages to me at benjamin(at)worldsgreatesttsoy.com, and I will forward it to Linda.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep Linda, and the memory of John's legacy, in your hearts.

    -b

p.s. If you want to remind yourself of how amazing John was, you may read the Mego Museum interview with the McNetts, who met and fell in love while working at Mego:

Man, that's a loss. Just reread that well-researched article, Ben. Very nice to do so in remembrance.

John McNett had so much talent and shared so much with us all.

                    RIP John McNett

Linda and John had been together since the good old days at Mego. A marriage of two smart and creative people is something I always admire. My condolences on her loss.

Thanks for introducing him to us, Ben, his work had many, many fans and he will be missed.

Wow, what a career- he worked with Marvin Glass and all the way through Coleco and on. I'm also glad that a man who had such an impact on my childhood found love in the very industry to which he gave so much.
