    No. It's licenced through Mego and were available in Mexico. If I understand it correctly, toys sold in Mexico had to be made in Mexico rather than imported Hong Kong, hence the similarites with a hint of Mexican madness.

      Yep, Cipsa was a completely legit company. Besides the apes, they also licensed a lot of stuff from Mattel, including Big Jim and Hot Wheels. I don't know anything about Hot Wheels, but Cipsa's Big Jim figures were very different from what the US saw, I'd love to start collecting them someday.
