Action Jackson is his name, bold ACCESSORIES are his game...

Finally finished the Action Jackson Accessory Check pages. Taken me long enough! Below is a link to the section. It only covers the basic boxed sets for now. I don't have the carded sets, so if anyone has these loose that we can get pics of, please let me know.

    Here's the link
Mego Action Jackson Gallery : MEGO Corp : Mego Toys

There are tons of variations to AJ sets, so there is something missing from a page that appears in certain variations, let me know. If anything is incorrect, let me know.

Also completed recently was the Buck Rogers 12" Accessory Check. Thanks to Chris Jeffreys for the photos and info on the Buck section.

Probably a typo in the code. I'm bad about that. I start off checking and double checking everything, but by the time I'm done I start to slack.

some constructive comments as you requested:
            first page:
Some emblems were stitched to the uniforms and not glued.
As for whether these are early versions (which I suspect) or later I do not know.
Also some emblems were embroidered rather than printed.
            see pics below....
Isn't the elastic belt the same as Dinah Mites?
the link to enlarge the row of heads doesnt work.
thanks Dave, will add more if I find anything

            baseball outfit accessory check:
the black trimmed uniform is supposed to also have an "A" on the opposite breast in addition the the "J" on the left.

            frogman set:
This is the first time I've seen a bouy with a red flag attached. Is that the way they are supposed to come?

            Hockey set:
Chalk it up to variations?? but I believe the hockey jersey is supposed to read "88" not "8".

            navy acc ck:

you have listed white short boots as variant. If that's the case these would have pinholes and the text should therefore be noted under the main AJ page that AJ short white boots that originally came on the figure should not have any pinholes.

the binoculars section refers to a canteen (which doesnt come with this uniform)

I always wondered what that weird white ragged-edged cloth was for. Any idea how it's attached?
Also I have seen tan (perhaps discolored?) sewn-on ties and white ones but not the blue one you have pictured. That's interesting. The one I got with that white cloth piece was supposedly from the box and mine has the tie already so...?

            western set:

except for the Action Jackson tag I believe the shirt is the same one John-Boy Walton has?

            general comment:
Weren't there other outfits that came with a white M-16 besides the one you pictured?

Kryp, thanks for taking the time to give it some serious thought and bring up some valid points. Since I'm not THE authority on AJ, I lean on you guys to correct these issues, so I appreciate the feedback. Let's go over your comments...

Emblems- Hmmm... interesting. Thanks for the pics. I'm going to have to add this information in some way. Probably on the "basic info" page. Good call!

Belt- It's the same style as Dinah, but I don't own a cloth belt Dinah so I can't verify, but I suspect Dinah's belt is smaller in diameter. Can anyone confirm?

                Head pic is now fixed.

Baseball J- Duh! Was going so fast I didn't think of that. I'll alter that text.

Frogman- Every Frogman buoy I've seen has the flag, although they do slide off. It's supposed to be there.

Hockey- I wondered about the 8 vs 88 thing. I've seen it both ways. I always assumed the number was 88 and a letter got lost, but there is no glue residue from a 2nd letter. I wonder if these got stuck on both way at the factory. Since I can't confirm this, I didn't mention the number in the text for that page, just that he should have a number, whether it's 88 or 8.

Navy- The canteen thing is a copy and paste error which I just fixed. I copy and past code so I don't have to re-write it all. I just forgot to alter the text on that one.

Navy-Boot pinholes are now noted on the page-

Navy- Tie- I've not seen tan, could be a discolored. Hmmm.. I'm not sure how the removable tie goes exactly. The first one of these I had didn't have an attached tie, and I folded that thing in half and tied it around the neck. Seemed to look right. I'm guessing if you got both, then they were using whatever shirts they had that day.

Navy- White Rifle- I have no idea what sets that came with. I can confirm it came from the Navy set. I've HEARD it came with the snow set or some of the other sets, but I can't confirm, so decided to not put it in print until I can confirm. If someone has pulled the white rifle off another carded set, please let me know.

Western- The AJ Western shirt and the Johnboy Walton shirt are not the same.

If anyone has any comments on these issues and can confirm any of these thoughts, let me know.

First off- WOW! The sheer number of accessories to catalog is impressive. Nice job, Dave.
And as a regular user of the galleries, I appreciate Krypto's notes. Obviously, we all depend on each other's experience.

Again, great work, Dave, that is greatly appreciated.

I have had hockey outfits with "88" glued on.

And a big THANKS to Chris for the Buck Rogers stuff as well.

Only edit I see is some double negatives in the text here and there.
Usually when you are referring to multiple items that have not been factory reproduced.

i.e. Neither of these have not been factory reproduced.

Saw it in the blue jumpsuit description at the beginning and a few times in other places as I was skimming around.

Was also wondering about the body. I have seen two different T0 style bodies on AJ's, one of which has a rounded wrist joint rather than the cylindrical one.

thanks again for the cool new section - I think I recognize some of those fellows in there.
