    I dunno if he actually Had the Cape,.. or it was just a pun-indended Statement, or perhaps an Eairly design of the costume. But man did He look funny,.. & it was a good read.
    I actually need to stop by Emerald City or another comic shop , so tomorrow is a good excuse to go , and while I am at it , I'll check out that issue. Thanks

      Capes can be cool:Batman,superman,spawn.
      But heroes can look excellent without:The punisher,spiderman,Hulk,Spawn.....
      So it really doesn't matter.Truth be told I think capes can free up an artists time.

            In the old days, Moon Knight (still one of my favorite Marvel heroes) had a cape with corners that were fastened to his wrists. I always considered that one of the most practical capes in superherodom. Being attached to his wrists, the cape would not impede him from walking or running, and the cape helped slow his descent when jumping from building tops.

              If it's someone from the Superman-Batman-Shazam group the cape works. Anyone else it isn't essential. Take Thor. Ultimate Thor has no cape and he looks just fine.

                Depends on the hero.....capes aren't for everyone.

                  DC = Capes

                  Marvel = No Capes

                  Not a written rule but it generally seems to apply for the most part.

                    The cape comes from the circus performer - the trapeze arist came out
                    wearing a cape and removed it for the act.

                    Superman was originally based on the strong man circus act - who was
                    based on Hercules - with the lace-up sandals - he also came out wearing
                    a cape.

                    The pulp heroes like the Shadow wore a cloak over a suit and Doc Savage
                    wore regular clothing. While they are considered the forerunners to the
                    comic book, it was the comic strip heroes like Flash Gordon wearing bright
                    colored, form fitting clothing that influenced superheroes the most - and
                    the FG crowd had a medieval/renaissance look that included capes.

                      Captain Marvel (as in Shazam) has that little short cape, what is the deal with that? lol. That one IS like the circus performer capes. Underdog's cape is always a little too long when drawn right, though he never seems to come in for a good landing
                      It's all good!

                        Capes are cool and can give you more of a target so bad guys miss your body when shooting. if they also have kevlar like the batfamily says they do , they are extra protection. flyers look better with capes and if you are a strong flayer you shouldn't get pulled into jet engines, no matter how funny it was on the Incredibles!
