    Mid-Ohio Comic Con, anyone going?

I am making plans to go and I was wondering if any other mego heads will be there? I know Art (mego milk) is going to be there.
    It's Oct. 3rd & 4th in Columbus.

Ah, so they moved it up from the usual Thanksgiving weekend huh?

I may have to consider it then. I went once, and liked it, but that weekend is just a deal-breaker for out-of-town stuff.

This is my first time for this show, I'm crossing my fingers for a wild mego wonderland but I have no idea what will be there. I guess I'll be happy even if I just find a John boy with one leg dressed as the good witch of Oz

I live in Columbus and I've never been. Is the show any good?

I hadn't planned on it. Actually didn't even know about it, but depending on my work schedule, this might be a good opportunity to take my son to something like this. It's only 2 hours away.

The comic company I used to work for exhibited here a few times. it was always a good, smaller show. The dealer room is separate form the publishers and artists, so it's pretty easy navigation.

This was the show that I have a small claim to fame of sorts that turn out to have been a curse. I "disovered" Greg Land in the lobby of the show with his portfolio. It was very, very impressive. At that point, though I had no idea he was using lightbox tracing techniques and neither did my publisher. He pencilled a few books before we made the connection and put a halt to it. He'd turned in several pages that were EXACT tracings from Marc Silvestri's X-Men stuff.

He went on to earn the ire and wrath of comic fans everywhere.

Oh yeah, go to the show. You'll like it.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I'd like to, but I doubt I could get away for the weekend. Still, Mid-Ohio's one of those things that I always say that I'll do next year, so you never know...

You unleashed his plague on us? How dare you!!!

I first noticed Land on the Nightwing mini-series. I picked up on a lot of Alan Davis swipes with Batman and Alfred at the time. But he's taken it to whole new levels in the last few years.

Well, to be fair, someone there would have snatched him up that weekend if it wasn't us. I just happened to be the first to see his stuff. Just consider me a comics pariah.

It is a cool show guys. I don't know how much admission is or if it's an entire weekend anymore, but the show can be done in it's entirety in several hours.

well, should have gotten to this much earlier in the week but here it is Oct 2 and i figured better late than not at all. I took the day off and I'm in Columbus now. The show starts at 10am tomorrow and I'll be there when it opens up, hangin' out for most of the day. If anyone else is going and wants to meet up for a bit, drop me a pm. I'll check in the morning and every hour or so to see what's up. I hope everyone has a great weekend, I know I will.

                          Tomorrow

I will be there. I should be easy to spot. I will be wearing the same New York Jets ball cap that I've been wearing for years. Give me an idea of what you look like and I'll see if I can find you.

I was planning on going with my wife and son, but my mother-in-law had a quadruple bypass today, so we're spending our day at the hospital tomorrow.
