What's up with MEGOSTORE.COM?

    What's up with MEGOSTORE.COM?

    I placed an order 14 days ago (all items in stock; paid immediately with Paypal) and still no package (supposed to ship USPS Priority), nor will they respond to emails.

    Anyone know these folks?

    The site still functions, and they accept payments, so I presume they're still in business. Is this their standard behavior? To be slow and non-communicative?

    Beyond anything else, 14 days isn't that long to wait for an order from any vendor. Even Doc Mego asks you allow 3 weeks for your package to arrive.

        It's a bit of a long wait when the confirmation says "2-3 days."

        The website still has the order labeled "pending." I don't know what that means, but it sounds like the order's not even filled out yet. If there's a reason for such a long delay in filling an order, they should tell me. I keep asking for an update, but nobody's telling me anything.

        Most importantly however, and why I'm concerned, is the lack of response to emails. That's typically an ill-omen.

          While I feel bad for your situation, this isn't exactly MEGO BUZZ.
          Perhaps we could move your thread somewhere else.
          Good luck with the order.
          I assume you know how to send a private message here to the proprietor of megostore, yes?

            I didn't know where else to put it. Doesn't fit anywhere else. There are many threads in the Buzz focusing on other sources for purchasing (cons, meets, shows, etc). A search for "Megostore" turned up several threads within the Buzz section. Looked like the best place for such a thread.

            As I mentioned before, I have emailed the proprietor several times (through the website) to no avail. I did discover a thread with a link to PM the owner, and have done that.

            I put this out there to the general Mego public because there's bound to be folks here who are familiar with the site and perhaps even know the owner personally. There can be many reasons for delays--illness, vacation, gone to a big convention--and I hoped if such were the case that others could let me know.

              Yeah, I guess you're right. People do put a bunch of stuff in this forum.
              I didn't mean any offense and hope you didn't take any. I mostly just wanted MY threads to be at the top.

                Dont be suprised if this thread gets deleted pretty fast,this store has had many problems in the past and deleted the previous threads because the majority of shoppers had the same problem you are having right now but some were over a year waiting on their items.

                  I'm megostore, I've been knee deep in migrating servers (including the one this very website is hosted on) for the past three weeks, so have gotten behind on emails again. But the 2-3 days you quoted is for priority mail, once the items are sent. It does say that pretty clearly, in addition to saying the time between your order and shipping can be 7-8 business days or longer. I've been VERY slow in the past and am trying to fix that. If I wasn't fixing PHP code and permissions and files and a thousand other things I've been doing the last few weeks, you would have heard from me sooner.

                  At any rate, you just PMed me this morning or late last night, and I was coming here to respond to it when I saw this message. So respond to it I shall, right now. Check your PM.

                    Megostore has had problems in the past. As a result Joe has resigned as an admin to focus on the store and to get rid of this idea that he was abusing his admin power to clean up all indications of Megostore issues. Obviously the museum is still hosted on his server, and he's been working hard at migrating us to the new location.

                    I'm not going to address what's right and what's wrong about how Joe does business. It's not related to the Museum directly, therefore not my responsibility to do so.

                    That said, the implication in the above statement that the thread will be deleted fast because of this angers me beyond words. That does reflect the Museum and how we moderate it. We've let 90% of the Megostore threads totally alone, only removing personal attacks, or redundant threads. Joe himself, while still an admin, created a sticky thread at the top of Megobuzz as a dedicated space to address issues.

                    The idea that the admins are removing megostore complaint threads just irritates the crap out of me.

                    Toyman, you've been here a year. The Megostore sticky thread was released a month ago. How can you act like we delete all references to any issues when that thread has been stuck in your face for months?

                    fumetti- You've been a member for over a year as well. How could you have missed this thread at the top of the main page for the last year?

                    Guys, we basically put these issues in a spotlight for a year and left it there for all to see. I don't see how anyone could have missed it that's been here even casually over the past year, and I resent the implication that the comments are being quickly deleted when that thread sitting in the top of Buzz has been an eyesore to me for months and months, and we let it go.

                    You can be angry over your treatment by Megostore. You can be pleased as punch as well. But to imply the Museum admins are working to hide any issues with Megostore because Joe was involved in management or hosting the site is insane when we did everything we could to make sure Joe didn't get any special treatment.

                    Let's be clear on this one more time. The Mego Museum is not related to the Megostore in any way. We have not and will not give Joe any special treatment because of his previous admin status. And we certainly will not get involved in trying to resolve issues with Megostore or any other vendor.

                    Feel free to voice your concerns reasonably, but don't dominate the board with them and don't try to fault the museum for deleting such concerns when it is clearly not being done. It is clearly an attempt to try to bring Brian and I into a personal transaction issue, or fault us in some way, and I personally, simply wont stand for it.

                      JUST to clear the air i did not know joe is no longer an administrator,i do know when he was that there were messages deleted almost as soon as they were posted and he lied to me several times about my items shipping and pretty much called me a liar when i called him out on the boards because he never sent me any messages, stating he sent me a tracking number when he never did.IT TOOK HIM 10 MONTHS TO SEND MY ORDER.IN MY OPNION AND ONLY MY OPNION IT MADE THE MUSEUM LOOK BAD BY THE WAY HE CONDUCTED BUSINESS OR THE LACK OF WHILE HE WAS AN ADM.YOU CAN BAN ME FROM THE BOARDS IF YOU WANT BUT I HAVE TO SAY WHAT I BELIEVE AND I DID NOT MEAN TO UPSET YOU DAVE BUT FACTS ARE FACTS AND EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR IN THE FUTURE,IT MAKES THE MUSEUM MORE SAFE FOR EVERYONE ESPECIALLY NEW MEMBERS.

                          Dave, what you described sounds like very positive steps towards having a clear and clean understanding of what megostore is separate from megomuseum.

                          Toyman, you and I are cool, but I don't think you need to jump in and bring up old dirt on Fumetti's thread. I mean, sure, you can, but doesn't that also contribute to the negative picture of the MM that you are talking about? Why not send a private message Fumetti and tell him what you experienced?

                          I am personally glad the eyesore is no longer there.
                          I would much rather see Soldato Mike and El Hombre Nuclear at the top of MEGOBUZZ.

                            Toyman - nice hijack of a thread! I'm not even going to respond to your message except to say that, yes, I did e-mail you, and if you say that I didn't, then you ARE lying.

                            Someone started a thread, asking about an order they placed two weeks ago. I answered, that should be the end of it.
