I bet when and if the mystery is finally solved, it won't live up to the legend. It will be something lame like remnants of materials and figures put together for a cheap-o thrift store.
The mystery is far more appealing than the truth, I'd bet.
Well I was out early on the last two I saw on ebay (just recently) so correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they both went for over $100 and one of them was incomplete.

there's something about the outfit that reminds me of something I've seen ... but of course I can't think of it ... maybe it's just from seeing this figure lol lol ????
I'd like to think there's something more to this figure than just being a quick made figure for cheap stores lol lol but like Earth 2 Chris said .. that's prob. all there is to it all lol ... but the blue eyes and yellow helmet seems to be more of a thought out idea more than just putting spair parts together ????
I'm still trying to track down the owner of the MGA Pilots company. Since they had the 12" former "mystery pilots" produced for the R/C aircraft industry, I'm betting theres a good chance the same will hold true here.
Some Mego employee had the foresight to know Megos would be highly collectible one day, and he put several hundreds of these figures together and planted them across the country at flea markets just to drive us nuts. He also stocked up on left over Monkey Wards Alter Egos, hoping to one day unload them on Al Gore's internet.
Almost looks like one of the Moonbase pilots from Gerry Anderson's UFO.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
