Upcoming WGSH Spotlight: Lex Luthor

Courtesy of World's Greatest Toys author Benjamin Holcomb is the Lex Luthor prototype, our first of the new figures from this Mattel/EMCE collaberation.
With all due respect to fans of Mr. Mxyzptlk, this figure is helping to erase one of the original WGSH lines biggest errors, the addition of Superman's true arch enemy, the leader of the Legion of Doom himself, Lex Luthor.

Again, we have a look that 70s kids will immediately identify as being from Challenge of the Superfriends, Bravo EMCE and Mattel!

In the photo from the front page it almost looks like Lex and Superman share the same head. Obviously Lex is bald, but it looks like the chin area is modified to remove Supermans cleft.

He looks fantastic!!! Hats off on the costume - just amazing. This figure should have been made 35 years ago - but better late than never.

Good call. I was thinking Thor (like many a Lex custom, but with the face modiefied) but I think you may be right.

Just looking at him you can hear..."Deep within a murky swamp, lies the headquarters of the sinister Legion of Doom...."

I'm glad they are making Lex Luthor but I think the head reads like a cross between Reed Richards and the bald Thor head customizers have been using for years. His expression is a little nondescript, so I hope some consideration is made to give him a mood. Perhaps arch the eyebrows a little further to make him look more sinister. Lex Luthor is a passionate villian, so I think a sinister expression would be more in line. I think the eyebrow arch would fix that. I LOVE the outfit. It will be great to have him in with the Mego world.

wow, that is a great looking figure! tHe outfit is just perfect. i do Hope thougH tHat tHe Head paint is a bit less dull in color than the prototypes we see here
