Ultra Villain - The Belgian custom traveler

I apologize in advance for the occassional blurry pic, but trying to force a perspective isn't always easy, especially with my camera

But here's the story of the custom traveler 2009:

    Identity Kit:
    Name: Ultra Villain
    Real ID: Thomas De Clercq
    Age: 33
Date of birth: April 14th 1976
    Height: 6’2”
    Weight: 190lbs
    Eyes: Brown
    Hair: Dark brown
    Nationality: Belgian
    Place of residence: Ghent
    IQ: 198
Occupation: Mad genius and criminal mastermind

Thomas De Clercq (my first name and Gorn Captain's last name) is born in Belgium from a Belgian father and Dutch mother. When it was time to choose a costume he decided to honor that heritage by incorporating the Belgian (black, red, yellow) and Dutch (blue, red, white) colors into his suit. Any resemblance with a certain heroic dog is purely coincidental.

At a young age his parents noticed he was smarter than the average kid and at the age of 12 he was already enrolled in university. Being the youngest and the smartest of his class he quickly became isolated, he didn't fit in anywhere. This led to Thomas' anti-social behaviour and got him into trouble on numerous occassions. As he grew older that anti-social behaviour got worse and got him into even more trouble, this time with the law.
Around this time he started looking up to people like Lex Luthor, Two-Face and the Joker, criminals and geniuses, like him. But as the years went by and he got older Thomas found himself hating those very same people he usedto look up to. Criminalo geniuses shouldn't get caught, he always thought. And so he decided it was time for him to step up and claim his place as the Ultimate Villain, the worst villain of all time, the one that wouldn't get caught.

For the past couple of months he's been traveling abroad, mainly in the US, building his army and installing lairs all over the world from where he will conquer the world. Recently he returned to his hometown Ghent to take a breather fromplotting evil schemes and enjoy the annual ten day city festival, the biggest in Europe.
Here we see him after he just arrived in his submarine. And who do you do - as a Belgian - after having been away for many months? Right, you enjoy a nice cold Belgian beer.

First stop of course was a trip to his headquarters

And an inspection of his defence system. Nothing beats a good old fashioned canon. It destroys everything in its path and it makes a helluva noise, further intimidating the enemy.

From the castle lair and the canon you may have guessed that the Ultimate Villain is somewhat of an old-fashioned villain, an old school bad guy. Well, here's more proof. From his HQ he went on to inspect his army. His armada consists of 17th century ships, all with the same bigass canons as in his lair.

As he was walking the town he encountered his arch nemesis

Being the president of the US is a sure way to get yourself a place on top of Ultra Villain's black list. But UV is too smart to attempt to kill his enemy with so many witnesses around. Besides, a bullet is too easy for UV, as he walked along, leaving Obama behind him, he was already plotting schemes to rid himself of his nemesis.

Next stop was the recruiting center for his air force. You may notice that UV is also somewhat vain. On the logo of his air force you will notice a picture of UV himself, wearing a pilot's hat, again old school. He will have none of those modern helmets. And as you can see people are lining up to be in his army.

But people take training and they can easily get caught or killed by the enemy, so our villain naturally has a back-up plan. Here he is inspecting his robotic army.

Ultra Villain is also a married man. Having been somewhat of an outcast in his younger years he found himself atrracted to a woman who had to go through the same thing he did because of her deformity. They met each other in a freak show - a place Thomas loved to visit because he felt more at ease, among other outcasts of society - where she performed as Lobster Lady. They fell in love and married shortly after.

After marrying Thomas Lobster Lady opened a little shop in Ghent, called The Fallen Angels, an appropriate name she thought. You can see Rik and me (I'm the one wearing the kilt and my CustoMego t-shirt) in front of it with Ultra Villain.

*If you'll allow me to take a side step here for a moment, The Fallen Angels is where my Mego adventure began 5 years ago. This is the place where my girlfriend Dafne bought me my first Mego - a French carded Batman - for my 28th birthday. And a funny story about that Batman. A friend of Brian (palitoy) was in Ghent around that time and passed by the shop. He noticed the carded Batman in the window, but fortunately for me the shop was closed that day or he would've bought it and I may never have become a Mego collector and yall wouldn't have been enjoying my stay here for the past 5 years. And my wonderful posts Brian, if you're reading this maybe you can post that picture of your friend in front of the store here?*

Anyway, back to the story of Ultra Villain and his path to conquering the world.
Plotting evil schemes is a tiring job and since there's a ten day city festival UV decided to visit the Polé Polé festival, enjoying a cocktail and the carribbean atmosphere of the festival with his general Rik.

But UV didn't only visit his hometown Ghent, he always took a few days off in Barvaux, in the Ardennes, where he enjoyed a walk through the woods. He finds the silence and solitude there refreshing, it helps him get ideas of what to do next.

After that he wanted to play miniature golf, but unfortunately they didn't have clubs his size.

While he was in Barvaux he went to watch the fireworks on July 21st, the Belgian national holiday.

After all of this Ultra Villain feels refreshed enough to continue his travels to make everything ready for when he decides the time is right to overtake the world.

I apologize for keeping the traveler so long, but I hope the pics and the story will somewhat make up for that. I need to do some minor touch ups on the paint job from taking him with me everywhere, but he will soon be on his way to next guy on the list.

Yeah, and the people at the Ghent festival sure gave us some stares!
Two bearded guys with a doll.
Taking pictures with that frigging doll always in front of the camera.

At one time, we wanted to take a pic of the boat and had to go behind a fence.
I can just hear them thinking: "Two grown men, one in a skirt, ducking behind a fence with a camera and a doll...."

But look on the bright side: we didn't get arrested!!!!
