I wonder if there will be a chase sinestro with the sinestro corps suit? -

Sounds like Mattel is on the same Page with you Paul!Leave a comment:

Mattel told me that what sold them on EMCE was seeing our Star Trek figures,
especially Khan and Chekov and Sulu and the Gorn.
New figures that could stand right next to vintage, and new versions of
old figures that looked great.Leave a comment:

As far as getting Marvel I believe in this day and age you can never say never. It would not surprise me if Marty knows someone at Marvel the way he does at DC. If the line takes off and does well I'm sure Marvel would notice. I'd love to see it happen, as I'm sure Paul and Joe would.
It's too bad it doesn't more often outside of comics. It would have been great to have them get together and use the same bodies for the DC Universe Inifinite Heroes and Marvel Universe figures. It would also be cool if DC got to do a Wave of Marvel Legends and Marvel got to do a Wave of DC Universe Classics the way they let Stan Lee draw the DC Universe. Too bad they can't all get along sometimes for our benefit.
I am very much looking forward to what's in Wave 2 and Wave 3 for next year. 2010 is going to be a great year for all of us.Leave a comment:

- Will you be using vintage art on the packaging?
- By entering this agreement with Mattel, does it block you from working out something with Hasbro & Marvel? I hope not because I want these to be VERY successful & have Hasbro/Marvel take notice. I would lose it if you guys re-started a Marvel-Mego line!

Okay, here's an update.
It's been asked whether or not we're making any improvements to the capes, be it material or some kind of hemming to prevent the classic "fraying" problem of vintage MEGOs.
We can reveal that the material is still nylon in keeping with MEGO, because we believe that changing the material of something with as much area as a cape is leaning a bit too far out of the "MEGOverse".
However, the Mattel factory is going to apply a process that seals the edges so fraying won't be a problem.
Hopefully that will be seen as an improvement without straying too far away from what we're intending to so with the line.
is what I personally see as the best news for this new Mattel product
since the initial announcement of the return of WGSH.
After the initial realization that no "replica" type WGSHs were being made
in the vein of past EMCE POTA/Trek releases, well, I was beginning to
think that as far as this new Matell venture was going, that
"Classic Mego-ish" concerns were going to be steamrolled on the whole
in favor of a mostly "modern toy" mentality for too many details for my liking.
I don't know what the end result will be here (all I see are prototypes at
the moment), but I'll be happier with the more the new items can jive
with vintage Megos.
I understand (of course) that others have other viewpoints here,
and, yes, I'm generally pleased with all this great new "WGSH news"...
...but my greatest hopes with these new 8 inch figures is that
whether through kitbashing or actual "whole figure" releases
that these new Mattel figures will enhance my vintage WGSH Megos
and custom WGSH figures made with the vintage WGSHs in mind.
The news about the decision for the cape material is a step in
a thoughtful direction for collectors like myself.Leave a comment:

I just realized that this could bring Mego full circle. After all the name was started with Marty's kid saying "Me go to..." Now we get the chance to buy the next incarnation of Mego (or Mego II)Leave a comment:

I'm a little curious about MattyCollector.com. I'm not familiar with the site, at all, so maybe what I am seeing there is not typical. This isn't a criticism, per se, but there really isn't much for sale there, at all. I imagine it is associated with Mattel, but it doesn't look much of a site. Is it usually better?
I counted a total of 24 items for sale on the site.
If you take out the "Coming Soon", "No longer available", "Currently Unavailable", figure stands, and a MOTU Club membership for $260, there are exactly 4 figure packs that you can order from the site, at this time.
Is this typical?Last edited by saildog; Jul 30, '09, 6:24 PM.Leave a comment:

Congrats! This is VERY exciting!!!! I have two questions....
1. Will these be in window boxes?
2. Is there a chance for Marvel versions?
Thanks!
