To all current, former and future MegoStore.com customers:
I've been ill, for about two years now. This isn't an excuse for my poor performance in shipping, (I was slow before that) but it had not helped. My red blood cell count is through the roof, I've been to all sorts of doctors - including an oncologist who did a bone marrow biopsy that thankfully came back negative - and no one has been able to find out what is going on.
What I have is called Polycythemia, but that's more a symptom than the disease, since it has to be caused by something - and that something is what they have not yet been able to figure out. Symptoms include tiredness, lethargy, sleepiness, spaciness, headaches... all of which has worn me down, not to mention have left me pretty depressed. Things are getting better, though. They are draining a pint of my blood monthly, which caused the overall RBC count to go down, and right after that I feel energetic and good. They'll continue to do that until they figure out the cause. It is a patch, not a cure, but it is better than no patch at all.
Like I said, my Polycythemia isn't an excuse for my slow shipping and slow response time, but it hasn't helped at all. And obviously my business has suffered from it, to the point where I don't even enjoy posting and participating in threads like I used to. I never really wanted to talk about this, but I feel I owed everyone an explanation.
I want things to get better, I don't want to hurt the Museum at all, which the now-deleted (by request) thread obviously did. I apologize to Scott, Brian, and Dave for that, who shouldn't have had to deal with anything at all relating to MegoStore.com. The Museum isn't related; it's just my second job, if you will.
That said, if you have an issue with an order being late or just needing to know when it will ship, please send me a PM on the Museum or an e-mail. I will do my very best to answer you within 24-48 hours, barring out of town travel.
I am doing my best to get caught up on orders, mend fences for past orders gone awry, and restore my reputation as someone you can count on to get your order to you asap. Please know my heart is in the right place and late orders have never been intentional.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as I work to get deliveries and customer service back on track.
And, again, if you have an issue with a late order, please send me a PM. Right now, I am sending new orders out within a week, trying for less than that, and still trying to make right on past orders that took too long.
If you can give me another chance, I'd really appreciate it.
I'm not posting this for sympathy, or to make excuses, so please don't take it that way. I'm going to continue to keep the store up, continue to be involved in the Museum, and do my best to make up for my past slowness, and finally get things back on track.
In order to do that, I'm going to temporarily resign as a moderator here. I'll still be around, still be involved, but I want to put my time toward getting things caught up and getting better rather than moderating posts.
Best,
Joe DeRouen
