Mego Trek communicators used on Monster Squad

I thought this needed it's own thread. On the 1976 series Monster Squad, they used Star Trek communicators for props.

I've only seen 3 shows so far but first it is used as a walkie talkie for the Bee people. They paint it some metallic color hot glue 3 studs on the bottom, paint "Bee" over the circular Star Trek plate and call it good.

The remote control for the crime computer is also a Star Trek communicator and will probably be seen in other episodes.

The Communicator is used by Walt in every epsiode to activate the Monsters, I'm curious if the noise it makes is just the same one the communicators make or simply a sound effect.

It does sound similar to the actual noise the communicator makes.

I've only seen one episode. I didn't know it was out on DVD until I read about it here!

She was also the shop teacher in Grease, and played a recurring role as a slightly off-balance friend on Designing Women (my Mom watched it, that's why I know this. I swear).

Good catch on the communicators! I need to buy this and watch it with my son. I think he'd like it.
