    The Mego Superheroes Down Under

New to the MegoMuseum Ad Archive is this rare Australian Magazine Ad for Toltoys (the down under distributer) who took the 1973 Mego Superheroes Catalog page and made it their own! Click on the image to see a bigger version.

Many thanks to Catherine AKA "SlipperyLilSuckers" for bringing this to our attention!

Check out the MegoMuseum Library for hours of Mego browsing.

Now that is cool!! Great find Cat, is there a story behind that one?

Also do you think that means the we should be looking for solid boxes down here? Can't recall ever seeing one in Australia.

Funnily enough the Toltoys people I've spoken with so far have stronger memories of Action Jackson than WGSH, one in parrticular was quite dissapointed that AJ hadn't quite reached the lofty heights of WGSH :-)

Thanks for the shout out of the blog too Brian, I really need to update again this weekend :-O

              Cheers!

Will, I saw it on ebay and figured since you didn't go for it you must already have it. (keeping in mind there are only about 10 mego things at a time on our ebay).

We DID have SOLID BOXES. The first one I ever saw was a solid box Superman, and yes of course I opened it to have a look inside. By the time I was able to scrape up the money the window boxes had come out...

Yeah. . . .I remember my Brother and I got our first Megos in Boxes, Supes, Batman, Robin, Tarzan, Spiderman, Captain America. . . . .then I remember that the treks came on Cards, and I was given a second Robin for my birthday in grade 2 (1976 I think), that was on a Card. . . .I recall thinking funny how the figure was identicle to my first one, but one came in a box and one came on a card.
