Ok Stretch Mickey Mouse question

yeah even that mr fantastic can go for a few bucks...none of them are really cheap....the 90's armstrongs all usually do over 50 bucks themselves....id pay pretty damn near stupid money for the elastic heroes i need but the others all go for way less money.....

Do any companies mass produce any toys like Stretch Armstrong these days? I'm just curious if you can pick something like that up new for $10 or $20?

There was a super-stretch Mr. Fantastic that came out with the first Fantastic Four movie a few years ago. Its probably pretty cheap on eBay.

Eh, there's crazy overzealous nutjobs in every hobby. Stretches are cool, but not real high on my radar. I wouldn't mind getting a Stretch Armstrong someday. Ya think that guy will still take $60.00 for that Mickey?

There's definitely a couple of guys out there who give the stretch toys a bad rap. I don't think they are very active anymore, and you can get stretch figures at relatively decent prices. I've moved on to other things, but still cherish the stretchs that I've collected. They are still a fun and iconic 70's toy, that for me, bring back a lot of very happy memories. A couple of speculators/nutjobs can't ruin that.

I have a re-filled stretch x-ray, and it's just not the same. The corn syrup isn't the right consistancey, and it stretchs just a little too easily. I've Tried to do a restoration job on a stretch monster I bought, and the thing self destructed. Not nearly as easy as you may think.

Well, drip molds have come up for sale several times in the past. So he probably realized it's pretty easy to make them.
Just dip the mold and either air dry or boil, probably still powder it so the latex won't stick to itself then roll it rightside out off the mold.
I've considered making new ones based on original sculpts, but crazy over zealous stretch fans have turned me off to the idea of getting mixed up in that scene.

they are 100% reproduction,nothing original about them.

Will advise your friend that once he does that the value will significantly drop down...if he plans to keep it forever until the end of his time then who cares right? but if it's something he's ever going to sell I would strongly advise against doing that....just take proper care of them and keep it 100% original...just my 2 cents

Can anyone recommend an expert on draining and stuffing these? A collecting mate of mine has a high end boxed super-hero one and I've advised him to drain it, he's concerned about the "time-bomb" nature of these but not sure what the right way to go is.

I'm with Brian on the drained-as-collectable theory, I wouldn't invest in a full one at this stage.

I don't understand the seller that is selling Custom elastics. does he have many of one and destroying them to create the customs or something else. Very strange.

I could kick myself for passing on a sweet condition Stretch Mickey MIB around 98 or so. I was just starting out collecting and it wasn't hot on my list of wants. The guy wanted $60.00 for it!
