    The Mad Monsters Series

Thanks to the generosity of Steve F., we have a much bigger scan of the 1974 Mego Mad Monsters Catalog page, click on it to see a larger view.

I'd also love to know what the heck this is supposed to be....

Maybe they're elevator buttons for the castle. First floor, Wolfie, top floor Frankie.

Yes, its the early flat head version of Frankenstein. The same goes with Dracula who has smooth hair, both were remodeled with more curly hair to avoid copyright issues.

I know about the flat head but the actual face looks weird to me too though...maybe it's just the pic.

              I think you're right, and I think he doesn't have glow-in-the-dark eyes.

Those eyes remind me of the original Hammer Frankenstein with the one black eye and the other cloudy one. All I know is that if I had seen this ad as a kid I would've been annoyed by the reference to these characters as being "lovable".

Love the monsters. Wolfman was always my favorite non-Apes mego as a kid. Still have my originals and finally picked up a mummy last year. I also just got the CTVT monsters series 2 and I love those, too.

It probably goes against the usual opinion, but I think all the Mad Monsters look great, except Dracula. He looks too goofy to me, and it bugs me that I need to buy him (and will probably have to pay the most for him) just to complete my set.

Thats a Cool ad. Those blurry buttons kinda look like some kind of picture Motion Rings. I wonder if those were ever made? I personally have a Deep love for the Monsters. There Awesome. My favorite is the Mummy

Never had these guys as a kid mainly because i'd didn't like how Frankie and Wolfman looked, The only one i wanted was Dracula and i could never find one at the stores
