It's funny, I was at a flea market with the kids and I found this issue, I remembered it from when I was a teen. It has an incredibly goofy cover with apes dressed like Davey Crocket but something told me it was a good issue, sure enough, this was in there.

I don't know but looking at old toy packages and catalogs, it's almost like it was a government mandate...

I'm surprised they gave Zaius such prominence in the line-up.

For a kid, the Soldier Ape offered more play value, especially with gun.
