Needing an opinion on what to do about an item.

I won a pretty rare item, and pretty expensive also. The seller was from Asia. I recieved the figure loose in the custom box that was made for him, but he roles around in it. He arrived damaged, no packing around the figure at all. I was able to repair him at the point of never knowing the figure was damaged. But here is my dilema, the figure is supposed to with a custom made hand scuplted weapon, but my figure was sent with a mass produced weapon instead, just as detailed, but not the one the figure was supposed to be with. This figure was made in 2003, so it most likely had a couple of owners. The weapon is almost the same, but it is not to that figure. I contacted the seller and told him it was not the weapon, but a sideshow weapon. His reply was it was shown in the pic. The pic was tiny, but his wording was that the figure was hand made by the artist.

I asked for $50 back, and he replied that he would give me 30 back. Now remember the figure was badly damaged before I got done with him. Should I file a paypal dispute? I don't want to give the figure back, because there are only 10 worldwide.

Well, it all depends on how bad you want to keep the figure.

If you really-really want it badly, accept his $30.00 refund.

If you don't want the figure all that bad, do the Paypal dispute.

If it was me, I would do the dispute and return the figure.

I agree with Mike, $30 is better then nothing and you get to keep him. Could we see this rare figure?

Did you tell him it was damaged from the way he packed it?

Yeah his reply was "I had no idea that the packge will be
shaken so much that there would this sort of an effect on the figure."

Going around the world and you don't think it might be shaken a little? Dumbass.

Anyway, I think that if you are happy with the repair job you did and really still want the figure then I'd keep it and take the $30. Then either leave neutral feedback or none at all.

Took your guys advice. Yes if I had not been able to repair it perfectly, then I would have done a paypal dispute, sent the figure packing. The fact that someone would place an expensive item into a box loose, than strat to protect it. I knew when I opened the box, and heard the figure knocking around inside is box, that there would be damage. The figure is one of those figures from the Koreon artist. There are about 5 guys who make figures that look really alive. This figure was from Kojun. It is hard to tell from the crappy pics that I did how well he is scuplted, and painted. On Darth Maul, the paint is pretty standard, but on some of the figures, the skin tone looks real. The first pics our from his site, the later ones are from me. No the white foam material was not in the box when shipped, I added it to protect him in the box.

Super stoked to have one. Everything is scuplted, boots, gloves. Clothing all hand sewn. The lightsaber is what I was missing, but they included a sideshow one that is very close to it.

Here is a pic of his Al Paccino:

I agree with eveyone else, If you want the figure badly accept the $30. If not I would file a paypal claim. Nothing aggrevates me more than poor packaging or sellers who sell things and take forver to ship or follow up has been shipped. I bought a figure once, that was not an expensive figure , but was mint on mint card , and thats what I paid for. I paid $9 for shipping the idiot put in an envelope. It arrived crushed and damaged. It also showed a post mark $ 2.79 . I was so peed off. When I contacted the seller he told me he had clue it would get crushed the yellow envelope......... Excuse me ? What ? I stated I wanted a refund , and he said no and started insulting me . I filed claim with paypal , and won but it was going to cost me to ship it back to the seller, so essentially I was going to be out more money, and that was not right. So I said hell with it, and will never buy from that guy again. I am usually very understanding, and give people a lot time, and are very friendly and nice. To have been insulted and then told no , and still be nice toi him, it really bugged me. I have things I have ordered elswhere and have been waiting so long that I am starting to wonder if I will ever get the stuff, meanwhile I am still patient and polite. I hope that you find the best option for your situation. I'd probably take the $30.
