What happend to the DOC SAVAGE prototypes?

I read in Ben's wonderful book "Wolrd's Greatest Toy's" that Mego made prototypes for DOC SAVAGE. Do they still exist and are there any photos?

None have surfaced, it's largely postulated that Cher's roadster is Doc's Car. I asked Neal Kublan about this once and it says "that would not surprise me" but he had fleeting memory of Doc Savage other than "It bombed" meaning, they dropped it like a hot rock.

Common procedure for Mego prototype seems to have been..
      1. Burn all parts in commercial furnace.
      2. Blow up furnace.
      3. Turn area where furnace was into parking lot.
      4. Dig up parking lot and fire fragments into sun.
      5. Force sun to go nova.

I often think that Jet Jungle looks like Doc Savage.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Bruce Waynes noggin woulda worked well for Doc...at least in the prototype stage. Problem is, they were basing the project on the Ron Ely TV series, which died as soon as the pilot movie aired on tv, so Doc technically would look somewhat like Ron (just think of all the Tarzan customs that could have come if this line had been made).

We have such a diliigent bunch here at the Museum, I'm certain if these ever turn up, it will be someone here who finds them.

Sadly the pilot died big time hence killing off the line but i wish DOC could have been added to the WGSH line but my guess is the MARVELS lack of success with the comic kinda killed that as well

Some one here pointed out that the box art of JJ was a redone art work of MARVEL'S DOC SAVAGE

Heres the theme song from the series...kinda has a Marvel Heros cartoony theme to it.

It wasn't a series pilot at all, it was a theatrical release produced by George Pal and directed by Michael Anderson. There was even a sequel rumoured to be filmed at the same time but never released.

I still want to see the Grease prototypes surface. And I'm not sure why.

I'm amazed that these weren't released. Were they in 8" or 12" format? I'm sure they would have done well.

Ever been at a bar or wedding or Christmas party when something from the Grease soundtrack comes on? Like Greased Lightning or Summer Nights? I find whenever Grease comes up in conversation, that movie really did seem to be the nostalgia equivalent of Star Wars to a large population of women currently in their late thirties/early forties.
