Vintage Mego and Comic Art from me as a Kid

I've been looking for these for years and finally found them. I have to say I'm suprised they aren't completely destroyed.

This is probably my earliest comic artwork. I did it around 8 years old. Mego Spiderman was the only Mego I owned as a kid, but I absolutely worshipped him. Not sure where this image came from, but if anyone recognizes this pose, let me know. Little on the chunky side, but it was a start.

I have to admit to being a closet Micronauts fan. I may have only had one 8" Mego, but I had dozens of Micronauts. Acroyear was by far my favorite. I did this one around age 9. The brown spots are tape aging.

        Heath's drawing skills at 8

        Mine at 9

Heath wins. I don't think I draw that good now.

Those are really nice. Especially for your age at the time. The Spiderman reminds me of a poster my brother and I had as a kid.

To be fair, I stopped drawing around age 13. Girls became my new interest. So, I doubt I could do anything like that today.

I drew all the time back then. 30 years is a long time to be out of practice.

Glad you found such treasures from your past! (Sadly, all similar items from my own were tossed years ago, so I can understand your surprise to find them).

Heath, those are very good for 8 years old!

The Spidey pose originated with a poster sold through the official Marvel Fan Club in the 60s (The Merry Marvel Marching Society, I believe). It was originally drawn by Spidey co-creator Steve Ditko. John Romita redrew the pose for licensing in the 70s.

nice work - especially for 9 years of age. That looks like a very michael golden rendition of Acroyear. Do you still draw?

I do some custom head painting from time to time, but don't draw anymore.
