Anyone going? I'll be there this morning, hoping for some Megos and comic goodness.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

There were a few Megos here and there, but nothing exciting. I did see something awesome though. One table had a giant promo poster that said, "Mego wants you to GO APE" featuring a soldier ape. It was similar to this one http://www.megomuseum.com/pota/images/apeposter.jpg, except that the one in the Galleries says "20th Century Fox..." instead. I really would have like to have brought it home, but the guy wanted, I kid you not, 2 grand for it. He had reprints of a lot of his vintage posters, but alas and also alack, not of that one. Has anyone else seen this poster before?

If he's had it that long and hasn't sold it,wouldn't you think he'd get the hint and lower the price?

I went by on Saturday and I was a bit disappointed. Not in the comic selection (I actually landed a good deal on a copy of Avengers #2), but there are usually more vintage toy dealers. The Mego selection was pretty sparse and most of the toy stuff was from the 80's. Not your cool 80's stuff either, mostly a gew plastic containers with chep figures. You know the ones that will be worth a ton in a few years.

Even though I live about an hour north of Philly, I could not attend this year but a friend of mine did get two Michael Hogan autographs for me. Had it not been for home renovations, I would have gone just to meet Hogan (Col Tighe from the new Battlestar). I had already met Ed James Olmos at Chiller in April and he was truly the coolest guy but to see Olmos and Hogan together would have been cool.

And saw Kristianna Loken at Super Mega Show in December...ooooh yeaaahhhh...when I asked to have a picture with her, she stood up from her chair and kept on standing. I had no idea she was so tall!

In fact, this past Wizard World was probably the largest guest list they've ever had in Philly. It was there that I first met Lou Ferrigno years ago, now he shows up everywhere!

I see that you mention the Creation show in Parsippany. Again, another show that I need to skip because of budget, but that's OK since I've seen all of the guests before over the years.

So, do you also attend Chiller Theatre in Parsippany and Super Mega Show?

I've been doing Chiller for years. I love it. I've met celebs that I never in my wildest dreams ever thought I'd meet. Same with Super Mega Show, even though it is much smaller. Love conventions!

In fact, it was at VulKon in Towson, MD years ago that I picked up the MEGO Star Trek Bridge Playset that I still have out on display in my hobby room. The dealer threw in a complete loose Spock in mint condition. And in fact, at another VulKon, I picked up a loose 12" vintage Han Solo in mint condition complete! Even the medallion was perfect.

It is getting tough to find the vintage stuff anymore. I am on the hunt for the 12" vintage Indiana Jones in a mint or near mint box. The one I have now, the box is beat but the figure is perfect. I'm a stickler for perfect boxes if I can get them.
