    It Seems I Collect Holes

I'm in the middle of trying to set some of my collection up for display as I now have some more space. I thought I had amassed a respectable collection and was psyched about breaking it out of its present display space-plastic tubs. Well, what seems to be most glaringly exhibited to me, is what I'm missing- The Little John box stands empty in my Merry Men space; the AJ's are dressed proudly, but Jungle Safari remains unrepresented; my foreign Megos- An incomplete Lily Robin and Cap and a FF Spidey with the seemingly unavoidable run down the front. The list goes on.

I'm leaving the space with the hopes I will one day fill them in, but right now they stand out like lone spotlights.

We all tend to focus on what we DON'T have. One thing I don't have is space. Space to display is such a nice thing, so take some time and enjoy those blank spaces, knowing that since you need to fill those spaces, the hobby still holds something for you.

And then you can sell it all and start all over again.

          Hear hear!
If I collected holes instead of toys, my place would be a LOT tidier.
I think I would display them in the order that I got them, or perhaps alphabetically, or perhaps order them by size. Then I would host a bbq party in the largest one. Yep.

but seriously; As long as you are searching, then it is still fun. The plastic tubs you just emptied will fill themselves up faster than you would think, and perhaps there will be something there to put in one of the holes on the shelf.

            Well said, Dave.

I don't mean to sound like I do not appreciate what I do have AND the fact that I now have space. Its just those holes keep taunting me

With only a limited amount of space (and finances at any given time) I find myself subject to those same taunts. When that happens I always try to think of a guy I know at work. He's in our age group and loves looking at pics of mine and others collections. He'd love to collect boxed Megos (and some other toys) but he simply can't afford it. In that light any "holes" I might have suddenly don't seem as important.

Hey, at least you'll have fun hunting down whatever needs to be in those holes

Somewhere along the line I've learned to relax about the gaps in my collection, they used to haunt me like a Dickens play up until a few years ago. Maybe it's because some of my holes are things like a Kresge Shazam and well, that ain't happening.

Yeah but a Gah prototype can sometimes help to ease the pain

I enjoy filling the Gaps in my collection. I really love the hunt. Some times It's more fun looking for the toys you need than finding them. I did say sometimes LOL. Ahh hell I just want them all now... Give me Give me Give me

Unfortunately, my space is too cramped now.
