For me it was Child World....literally the greatest store ever IMO ! What was YOUR favorite place to get megos back in the day?

My favorite was Sears. I can still remember seeing the Mego's hanging on the pegs. My parents took me to the Mall just about every weekend. What torture! I still have my Grandparents store catalogs with the Mego and other vintage toy ads. What great memories those are.

Too much space. Need more toys!

There was place near me called The Toy & Sport Warehouse.
Awseome selection of Mego, Star Wars etc. I brefly kept a journal in the early eighties and actually documented a trip there about buying remco Wolfman figure. On top the page I drew a picture of the sun and labeled it "A good day".

My most vivid Mego memories are from Two Guys in Cheektowaga, NY. K-Mart & Big N also rank up there. I only recall going to Child World once or twice as a kid. It was kind of far from where we lived. I distinctly remember going to a store called Nichols (a K-Martlike store) in Painted Post, NY one summer and they had a whole aisle of Planet of the Apes...EVERYTHING....Treehouses piled high up on the tops of the shelves, Thrones packed on the shelf at eye level, mmmmm...Mego heaven. Wish I had a picture other than the one in my mind.

Tops in West Haven,CT. They had the biggest selection of 8" figures. McCrory's in Woodbridge,CT had all the Comic Action Heroes and Micronauts. Miss those places!

              Woolco

Dominion Playworld (the only place I ever saw Thing, Torch or Supergirl) by the late seventies, all they had were endcaps of dual carded parkdale Hulk and Spiderman sadly.

Pinnochio's- Really nice selection of older window boxed stuff, the only place I ever found Robin Hood or Knights.

              All of them gone sadly....

Always a good topic as many of these stores enjoy the same rose tint that filter much of our childhoods.

Kiddie City. Even the name is great.

i think even ace or aco hardware had wgsh back in the day. could you imagine seeing dcu or marvel legends in a hardware store today. i'm sure they only had spidey, hulk, batman, and superman but something like that likely will never be seen again.

Most all of mine came boxed from McCrorys. Got a few by mail order from Heroes World. First and only time I ever saw any of the POTA line was at Roses although I didn't get any that day. Don't think I ever got any carded figures at all.
