When I got my POTA treehouse in the 1980's from a collector's dealer. It was completely unassembled and as I would expect it from a store.
When I unpacked it, there was some 1974 era crumpled sheets of newspaper used for cushioning of some of the parts.
It's a bit of a mystery since the toys were made in Hong Kong but the newspaper is from New York City.
I am wondering if the NYC Mego warehouses put the newspaper in the packages to add cushion so they can stack them higher or was it the store who sold it or the person who first bought it.
Has anyone else come across vintage newspaper for packing material in playsets?
