Except for me trying to get stuff for my Trek project, I would not have posted here and I still almost only talk about Trek Megos and so I'm only barely in the same category as most of you.

And lately.... I've noticed that my average visit it like 1.5hrs. This is killing me. I remember why I quit a Martial Arts forum years ago, it was TIME CONSUMING. So I may disappear from here again so to speak after the Emcee thing goes away or Mego is reborn. If I start working on my movie, or give it up I may be scarce. But I'm not a collector perhaps. I only have a few items "Minty Fresh" and I may sell them very soon.

I may post on another thread to see if I can get an idea of what they are worth. I have a few Trek items. I may also try to trade them here for stuff I want.

But anyway, I was lurking here for 2-3years lately. I found an email recently where I guess I had Dave McC paint Kor 5 years ago. I haven't posted much from 2004-Now I don't think.

I hope I made some relevant comments...

Yeah, I lurked here for about a year before I got active. I used to worry about people being able to track activities on the 'net. I still do a little. I'm paranoid like that, which is why I got off Facebook after they had that flap a few months ago. I just don't like it when ex-wives contact me, and I also get a little bugged by old H.S. friends (and acquaintances) who want to fire up a new relationship. There's also the time factor.

Mego Museum is worth my time and exposure, though, b/c I've found most of ya'll to be good folks who are worth my time.

1-There are definitely folks I've heard of with massive collections where pictures have shown up but they wish to remain anonymous. The reason probably being they have no interest in being hounded to sell their rare pieces or as discussed before aren't into the social aspect.

2-There are people who like the the hobby but not the particular forums. I know there are/were a few members here (including me) who also collect Star Wars but choose not to post on any related message baords since the fun aspect isn't there.

3-There are people no matter how much things change, are used to doing things a certain way, even if it doesn't help their cause. Say someone who acquired their collection pre-internet and absolutely won't buy anything online. Most who wouldn't buy online aren't inclined to post on it.
Yep, agreed on all points, I've known a fair amount of people who fall into those categories. I also know of alot of people who are in the entertainment biz who have amazing collections of Mego and other toys, but prefer to not participate in public collector forums and stuff, for the same reason that they don't participate in other public forums (i.e. fear of overzealous fanboys, stalkers, weirdos, etc.)

No, quite the opposite actually, he was just an old school phone type. He and I talked for over a decade and got to be friends, that's just how he liked to work. When the internet started becoming more predominant, it just wasn't his bag.

Well, FEAR, OVERZEALOUS FANBOYS and STALKERS is something they wouldn't have to worry about here.

              WEIRDO's, is a different story ...

Seriously. I'm terrible with computers. I still don't know how to get a picture from my camera to my PC, and on the internet.
I know several collectors who only buy stuff in stores (paying through the nose for some items you can find on Ebay for next to nothing).

Nice to know that you are not alone ehh? Maybe now that you know that you are not the only one here that is technically challenged if you will. Perhaps you and Gorn Captain can string two tin cans and talk to one another long distance. Kidding! Of course that would be a heck of alot of string....
