That's weird. Not sure if anyone has an answer for either this or the GL. I do find it very interesting they were found in the same lot.

Ledy, knock off, that is a great Green Lantern sculpt. Maybe Mego did make GL afterall.

Yeah, it's painted dark colour but it has a weird neck plug.

Brian, don't you thing the mexican factories had crude tooling and probably had a ton of variations because of their lack of very skilled workers? Also, they probably used whatever paint was available when it was time to paint. do you know by chance where their factories were in Mexico? That would be something to visit.

Who knows, I know from Ledy figures that the quality and consitancy of materials did result in variants like this:

As for these heads, who is to say? Factory work, knock offs or the result of a very talented person? All are viable. I remember a friend telling me years ago about finding a Green lantern and Flash from Mexico but dismissing them as crude knock offs, this is before Ledys were known. I want to believe it but I'm not going argue with anybody who doesn't, they could be right.

did these figures come in shipping containers? Also is there a list somewhere of what was made in Mexico? Now you are making me curious Brian.

Those Robin pics remind me, I haven't seen Luis around here lately. He had a really good grasp of the Ledy variants, and the differences between all the first issue, second issue, etc Ledy figures. I'd love to see him do some kind of reference someday, maybe if he gets his proposed website up and running....

Remember Ledy had 3 different Factories making the same figures so varations can easily happen as materials run out or molds give way. I don't
think it's a Ledy thing so much as business thing. Look how many Mego Spiderman varations there are.

HASBRO has so many varations on 1970s Gijoe clothing that no one bothers to document them all. I have seen at least 4-5 varations of each uniform there are sure to be more. Hasbro's quality control was terrible in 1970s often items were missing from sealed packages. There are many rare varations at the end of Gijoes run like: Hard Hand Muscle body GIJOE figures and the Red head Eagle Eye figures.

I contacted Luis to get him in on this discussion. He also told me about how crazy things are in Mexico. He and his family are okay.

That's good that he's doing ok. I was thinking of asking him that myself. He lives right in Mexico City, doesn't he? I'm sure things aren't that great there right now.

I'd love to have a set of Ledy figures. And the bootlegs that came from them.
