    Wonder Girl Variation

I picked up a Wonder Girl from a friend of mine. Is is a bit different from what we are used to see. The head is a bit skinnier and the hair is a lot longer. Has anyone ever seen this before. The picture below shows the correct version on the left and the mystery version on the right.

As far as I know there is only one Wondergirl sculpt. In my opinion, the head has distorted over time. As for the hair, I'm betting if you laid twenty Wondergirls on a table the hair length would be all over the place. I've had a lot of Batgirls and a bazillion Uhuras over the years, and the hair wasn't consistent on them either.

If you google Mego Wondergirl you get these pics on the first page:

Gotta agree on the hair, I've seen varying lengths on many of the female dolls.

The head on the figure on the right looks like it mught be graying. Has that been reported as an issue with WG figures?
      WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

Here is a link to a thread that had WG variants. wondergirl's arms revisited - Mego Talk

The two heads you have are consistent with the two I had. The longer hair version greyed. The shorter haired version kept her color.
Hair length changes greatly but sometimes can help identify when in a figures run it was released - Because greying issues crept up later in mego releases it is likely that the longer hair version came later. I think Thor is one who it is known if the shorter hair is earlier or later.

Any face shape change is prob due to the same chem break down causing the grey.

There were two different Wondergirl cards. The first had TM next to the Mego logo, and the second had a registration mark next to the Mego logo.

I can't say this with 100% certainty, but the longer hair WG for which it is more likely for the head to have grayed came from the second run of figures with the registration mark next to the Mego logo. The head graying phenomenon for second run carded figures can be generalized for all 4 Teen Titans.

The second run of figures also had more opaque yellow necklaces.

As Brue pointed out, there was also a change in arm construction for WG between first and second run.

What about Kid Flash? In second run figures, does his yellow vinyl head fade to a paler yellow (as later issue Things and Torches fade to a pale orange and red respectively)? Or is it something that would be less noticable because of the colour, or perhaps the batch of yellow vinyl used for both runs wasn't susceptable to the vinyl migration problem?
