Removing price stickers

Still great info and answered a question I had thought about. Now I just have to decide if I want to remove the sticker or not.

I remember doing this to a lot of MOC Megos I had, some rare ones too, because the stickers were eyesores. Although a couple lifted off ok, many were left with marks and in some cases tiny litho tears. It all depends on how tough the sticker is and not putting too much fluid on.

I instantly regretted removing them, but each to his own. Good luck if you attempt it Clem.

Yes, Goo Gone is one of the best methods in my experience.

^Yes! Goo Gone has never failed me, & it's much gentler & water-soluble than other solvents.

Use Goo Gone. It may leave a dark 'wet' area in the litho, but it will evaporate over time and disappear.

When you first apply, walk away for 5-10 minutes before working at the price sticker at all. You have to give the Goo Gone time to work.

I am with the leave it on crowd. I love price stickers as long as they aren't giant and covering major art.

It depends on how rare the item is, but I've removed many labels by just peeling the stickers off first, very slowly, leaving some of the glue still stuck on the card or box.
I then take a piece of sticky tape, that I roll around my index finger, sticky side on the outside, and then dab the residue repeatedly, and very often you just take it away one dab at a time until it's all gone, and you'll need to replace the tape around your finger a couple of times.
Don't duct tape me and throw me in the river if it doesn't work....

QUESTION: What are the long-term effects of chemical solutions (lighter fluid, goo gone, etc.) on the cardboard/packaging? Anyone know? Has anyone tried this long enough ago to see any long-term effects?

I'm facing a handful of beautiful MIB figures (about 15 years old) with giant, hideous clearance stickers plastered on the boxes as we speak!...HELP!

You gotta be carefully using that.

That stuff is nasty strong

I know and it stinks

I try and only use a little bit of it on cotton wool or on a tissue,i dont use it on the plastic bubble,as it might melt it
