    Opening Never-Opened Boxes

This is not a thread about whether I should open a never-opened box, but rather, how to do so. As I said in another thread, a never-opened Action Jackson uniform will probably arrive in the mail today. I'm of course going to open it and put it on AJ...but I'd like to keep the box fairly much intact. I haven't had one of these since I was a kid, so I don't remember much about them. Is there a trick for getting the uniform out without harming the package?

Once you cut the tape to open the box you can slide the yellow tray out without any problems. Then all you need to do is cut the string holding the items onto the tray. Pretty simple.

Yup, just like Scott said. I would also say to cut the string from the back side. I just used nailclippers. Then just gently pull the strings through the items and there you go.

FIRST THROW THE BOX TO THE GROUND AND STEP ON IT!!!! Just kidding.......cut the tape on top and slide it out , then follow the examples set before my post. It's real simple to extract an A.J. item without harming it's house

LOL, no. But I vividly remember being forced to trash all the boxes for my stuff back in 1979. I kept everything and had them on display on my dresser. The one I remember the most was the POTA Action Stallion box. We were moving across the country and there wasn't enough room for "junk". I even had to get rid of almost all my toys but I managed to hide my Megos between my clothes and that's the only reason I still have them today. I had to give away all the playsets and my GI Joe stuff, SMDM, etc.
I still curse my (former) stepfather for making me do that but we sure had enough room for his motorcycle!

No! I can't either. I have a few opened AJ outfit boxes lying around and I really don't want them but I cannot seem to throw them out.

That's some lameness right there. Why do some stepdads have to be like that? We pay hard earned money for that "junk" today.
