Jet Jungle original thread

Hi,

Can someone post me the original thread where the Jet Jungle is discovered I don't think I was here when that all kicked off and would love to read everyones astonished response. What an amazing discovery that box is unreal.
Has anyone else found a JJ since?

I've always wanted to know who Jet Jungle is anyway? The Mego head looks like a white-haired Bruce Wayne. But what about the character? Was he in a comic book? A TV show? A cartoon? Is he just some made up guy?

The Museum page has a pretty good rundown of how the discovery came about. I can summarize the forum discussion: "Wow! That's amazing!" "How do we know it's not fake?" "I want one!"

The page also says he's a radio character used to advertise cereal in South Africa.

I think since that article Clem there are about five around. The MIB and a loose one that were the initial discovery and three others have surfaced since then.

There used to be one of the radio shows about online somewhere, the theme tune was funky. He was a character used to sell Oatmeal and Peanut Butter and enjoyed long success as a radio character in South Africa.

I really have nothing to add that Brian hasn't already said. If anyone doesn't already know, he is amazingly enough part of "The World's Greatest Superheroes".

I bought mine from a guy who lived in South Africa as a kid. Said he had lots of adventures with Jet Jungle, but doesn't recall any other figures from the line.

I was actually more interested in what he had to say about "The New Avengers". He doesn't remember any toys from the line, but he does remember the show being very popular. Said lots of girls had the "Purdy" haircut.

I'm guessing the best way to describe him is a cross between Doc Savage and Race Bannon from Jonny Quest. At least that's what I've pieced together.

A member here found one on ebay about a year ago, so it's a little more fresh than that.

I built myself a repro Jet Jungle shortly after the discovery, and I recently built a repro for my son who is new to "Megos". He thinks Jet is a bad guy even though I told him otherwise. Even though I don't know much about Jet Jungle, I am still fascinated by the character. In fact, The Jet Jungle Mego Museum Card is the only one I have 2 of. I don't know why I like the character so much really.

I have the "Jet Jungle - Project Farstar" radio drama as well, but I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. It has the Black Cat Peanut Butter ads and everything. FYI Jet Jungle has a deep voice.

I haven't taken a decent full body shot yet. This was one of my earlier shots when I barely knew how to use my camera. As you can see, a lint roller would have been nice.

It was pointed out to me by a good friend that CTVT got the eye color wrong.
