    Scarcity Index?

Is the scarcity index on here still relatively current pertaining to current scarcity, or should that be updated? It's been a few years since I've been into Mego collecting, and now that I might get back into it I was curious since, from what I recall, the hero one on there is the same as it was a few years ago.

Well, unless there's a huge warehouse find I doubt anything considered scarcer would get common but I can see your point. Perhaps some things have become more scarce as time goes on and data is collected and they need to be re-evaluated?

Yeah...I mean...a few years back even a regular complete Supergirl or Green Arrow were difficult to find, and now these figs are popping up like mad. Granted, a lot of times they have repro emblems or shoes (Supergirl), but for the most part, even incomplete I'm seeing a LOT more of them than I did years ago. And I'm thinking certain ones, like the SS Supergirl, SS Batgirl, and CS Spider-man might need to be readjusted to be a little scarcer? Not sure about that. The RM robin as well, but less scarce, as I think these are coming up a lot more as well. I think the A. Ego ones should move up to #1 and the RM Robin should move down. Of course, most of the RM you see are sans original mask and sans yellow sleeves, of course. Anyway, just an observation, and one with a huge gap in between searches since it's been a few years until a few weeks ago that I was watching. So I could be wrong.

The scarcity index is based on complete and all original figures so you have to take that into account. While there may be more of these incomplete and repro inhanced figures showing up it doesn't put them in the same catogory as all original and complete figures.

It would make sense to revise it if one included the newly discovered foreign Megos (like Jet Jungle and the Basas), but the index covers strictly Mego stuff, so there's hardly any point in doing so

Exactly. The index covers loose, complete figures in C8 condition or better, with absolutely no repro. The vast majority of the GAs and Supergirls I see, for example, do not fit into that catagory.

yeah but on the Green Arrow, the only part that is reallt rare is the bow. Supergirl it is the shoes and emblem and the belt. It seems to me that the alter ego, and removable mask Robin are the rarest of the heroes line....followed by maybe wonder girl and aqualad.

With both GA and SG, the problem is too many accessories, plus the high loss factor of SG's shoes, which easily fall off, and the high breakage factor of GA's bow and quiver (plus his hat easily goes missing). These factors make it devilishly hard to find loose, complete, all original C8 examples of both of these figures (almost as hard as finding loose complete Flash Gordon figures). But yeah, I would put the AE's, RM Robin and most of Titans above GA and SG on the difficulty scale.

Thanks for the help. Yeah, like I said, it has been a while since I searched between 2 weeks ago and several years ago. I just assumed that since I was seeing an increase in incomplete harder-to-find megos that were scarce a few years ago even in an incomplete state that it would naturally mean an increase in complete harder-to-find megos as well. I guess not! And with all of the repros out there now made by different people, what a pain that must be. I see there's now some kind of identification guide to help people with that, so whoever took the time to do that really helped out the community. Anyway...what about the silk-screen versions of Supergirl, Batgirl, and Catwoman (3 versions from what I'm seeing)? I used to have all 3 of those figures about 10 years ago and needed the money as I was about to re-enter college so I had to let them go. Supergirl was the hardest to let go for me.

That would be Dave Mc. I sure don't envy him for doing that, but it really is a great tool
