Were they all like that in the UK or just certain variations to use up parts like the Franken-Aquaman. Never seen that before.

It seems just certain ones. Some have the regular footwear, some have the black trek booted legs (see Robs pic further up the page) and some (Starskys) have the white booted leg.

I just used an AJ gun for Starsky. It's quite similar to what they seem to have come with overseas and fairly close to what the character had on the show. I got lucky in a dollar store one time and found some plastic soldiers with perfect Mego-scale revolvers, suitable for either a .357 Colt Python, Hutch's gun, or Dirty Harry's .44. I believe those both have six inch barrels, etc. I don't really know too much about guns, but it was neat to be able to find stuff that was so suitable. The problem with the guns is that you have to be careful not to break the Mego thumbs. I did that all the time as a kid, trying to wedge stuff into their hands. I use a small flesh color dental elastic to hold the guns in place. I hope I come across those guns again some day so I can hook other people up.

I think the Palitoy version of Hutch is much cooler looking. the leather vest works so much better than the lame hippy vest they gave him over here.

You need a side my side of the UK Hutch and the regular one. I think the UK Hutch looks way better in his version of his vest.
