Mego Hulk Aurora Connection?

Got an interesting email this week, the fellow asked me if I knew that the fists and feet on this:

I haven't seen my Aurora Hulk model since my sister got carsick on it in 1976 and my mom tossed it in a farmer's field. So anybody out there got them side by side?

Oooh, it sure looks like a match! And I do know the art from the reissue of this kit (the Comic Scenes version) was used on the backs of Mego packages at one point, so there is another connection.

I dont have the model but I got my Hulk right here and .....the hands , maybe ......but the feet dont match.

There is a similarity, but how many ways can you make a Hulk fist and foot? Could just be a coincidence.

Especially on the left foot. Look at how much space there is between the big toe and the rest of the foot on the model.

Nah, I don't really see it. The feet are different, and a big green fist is well, a big green fist. Any similarities are just due to the nature of the character.

Wow, tales of lost childhood toys don't get much better than that. I honestly have nothing to compete with that. The best I can do is my dad sitting on my Aurora Rodan model.

i agree, the hands definitely match. mego might have modified the feet, but definitely could have been inspired by aurora hulk.

its possibale they used the model as a base line on what the figure should look like.\
Remenber Ideal used G.I.Joe figues for the captain Action stand in ,and
Kenner used 3 1/4 megos for mock ups for there 1984 line.

Feet certainly are no match, or at least they're modified. But looking at the hand comparison pic even those look different to me
